I am sure Sindhu is a great talent and will do wonders for India. But I believe when you are Ranked No 1 ever and win major Opens without moving out of top 10 ranking..you are more than just good . She was/is a powerhouse, injuries and age, sadly are a bad mix. As much as this comparison they both need to live with, it's sad.

^^ I agree with you. Of course, Saina is a powerhouse. I was just running low on good adjectives. If there was no Saina, there wouldn't be a Sindhu or Srikanth today. We're proud of Saina.

See, we have national games sports events and other events, if a federal representative shows some talents in those events, he/she can apply for scholarship with SAI (Sports Authority of India), there are numbers of SAI's regional centers with good infrastructures. It depends on the regional influence to provide the major infrastructural support. For example, Ranchi must have the best hockey turf but Kerela have the best synthetic tracks, Punjab have hockey and basketball facilities, Haryana have the Boxing and wrestling infras. Gujjus are not very sports enthusiastic apart from cricket, thus may be they don't have any facilities there. If you get the SAI scholarship and trained under them, it's guaranteed that you will get a Govt or public sector job, if you get that job then you don't have to come for day to day office jobs, just practice and play, every month in your name salary has to be credited ! Now just perform well and shine in major events, there are lots of corporate organizations, who will help you without looking at your surname. TATA, Hero (Munjal), Jindal Steels (both brother's groups), Indian Airlines, Adani, Reliance, Jaypee group, Goenkas, Times Group, ITC and others are providing lots of money to athletes.

Am giving you an example, have you heard about Dattu Baban Bhokanal, this poor farmer's son from Maharashtra, who competes in the men's rowing single sculls in Rio, once he had the fear for water but after getting an Indian Army job, he becomes rower, authorities have seen something potential with him and encouraged to practice hard, some months back his mom was badly injured in an road accident and the poor family was looking for his help, physically and financially, the army covered her medical expenses so Bhokanal could continue with his rowing career, Army sent him to Chicago for high level training under Target Olympic Podium Scheme and he was there for a good period, he managed to reached the quarter final this time ...

So, if you bring a talented athlete, introduced him/her to the schemes of sports ministry ... har koi Bindra jaisa rich toh hota nahin, so have to explore the route, success will follow ... hamesha Govt. politicians, bureaucrats ko gaali dekar faaida nahin... initiative khud ko lena padega ... agar Tripura mein rahkar Dipa Gymnastics seekh sakti hain toh Delhi ki ladki kyon nahin seekh paayegi ...interest bhi hona chahiye aur talent bhi

Fingers crossed for today's finals. Carolina Marin is the undisputed World Badminton Champ right now and it is going to be very, very tough for Sindhu, but the girl has been throwing surprises left, right and centre! So all the best to her! I am happy that she has already ensured a silver for India, but if she wins Gold...😳

Also, someone should recommend a Bharat Ratna for Gopichand for having churned out world class badminton players! He has dedicated his life to Badminton and is helping so many youngsters achieve success for India! Hats off to the most awesome sports coach India has ever seen!

Coming to Bolt, he makes all the other sprinters look like kindergarten kids!😆 He and Phelps are simply something else! There won't be many like them for years to come!
