Arijit now is consider to be best for romantic sad songs which once Sonu Nigam was popular for ...Does Sonu Nigam have still the potential to sing new kind of songs in that emotional way ...Can he overshadow arijit singh like he did with kumar sanu back in his days ? or Sonu Nigam is a part of history in Bollywood music ...or he is outdated now. ...in past some year arijit singh really have took his place in bollywood music in a vast way.. Discuss?

While Arijit has an amazing voice and he's a great singer but i don't think Sonu and him have any competition. Sonu is miles ahead. He has versatility in his voice. One Kal ho na ho of Sonu's is enough to prove who is the best among the two!

Its a shame that Sonu doesnt sing for BW films anymore.

Sonu is already so much ahead than Arijit. Sonu is a legend. Arijit's voice is fine but Sonu is a class apart.

Sonu is a great singer no doubt he has an excellent voice but there are certain songs of arijit which i can't imagine sonu singing but there are almost all songs of sonu which i can imagine arijit singing so in my opinion arijit is more versatile than sonu who has that ability to sing any kind of song beautifully & make it really melodious which sonu can't do, sonu's voice is mostly suits best in certain types of songs not in all kinds of songs so ya he doesn't have that ability to overshadow arijit.

After Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar if there was any amazing singer then it was Kumar Sanu and Sonu Nigam. My favorite singers ever.

Sonu Nigam is such a versatile singer with a huge range and has the ability to overshadow any current BW singer. Difference is he has chosen not to be a part of BW now due to the disrespect/lack of respect he's received.

Just listen to abhi mujh main kahin from agneepath if you don't believe me and then listen to him live. There's hardly a difference. Goes to show just how talented hen is and how hardworking he is to maintain his singing voice

They both are super amazing in their own ways so it is better not to compare them.

IMO Arijit is more versatile than Sonu.

It is really sad that Sonu no longer sings in BW movies, I heard he got some underworld threat calls and so he does not sing in BW. He still sing in the south though.

I like Arijit's voice. But he sings mostly same type of songs.

Where as Sonu's voice is more melodious. He can overshadow Arijit any time if he's given the chance.

So yes! Sonu can overshadow Arijit!

Any day!! Sonu Nigam had a versatile voice which I haven't heard since Kishore Kumar..Arijit Singh has a good voice but not the range which Sonu Nigam has..one can hear the emotions when Sonu Nigam sings..
