I watched the Hindi Drishyam the other day on TV and was left disappointed especially after having watched the Tamil and the Malayalam versions before this. The piece de resistance of the movie is the very climax scene in which the confrontation between the parents takes place. I don't want to reveal much about it as it's a pivotal scene and may spoil the whole movie to those who haven't watched it yet but both Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal had completely owned that in their respective regional versions. But Ajay Devgn was totally wooden and his eyes were so inexpressive which completely ruined it for me. Did anyone else feel the same? And the screenplay left a lot to be desired too. Only Tabu was the saving grace.

Ajay Devgan's eyes do all the talk
Yup no doubt Mohan Lal & Kamal Hassan were amazing and so was Ravichandran in the Kannada version. Liked Ajay as well though.

Honestly, I too felt the same. The story was very interestingly written but I feel Ajay Devgn didnt seem interested in the movie. He has acted much better in other movies. But he was bland here. What other wise could have been a true mystery movie seemed to be another family drama most of the times.

Ajay ke bare main apka jo opinion hai usse Mera opinion to bilkul ulta hai .
For me Ajay's eyes are very expressive.
I think Ajay did act well in this movie
I loved Drishyam
I like Kamal Hasan and south movies are good too.
Maine south version dekha nahin.agar comparison chod dain to main ye kahunga ki Kamal Hasan and Mohanlal ney achi acting ki hogi aur Ajay ney bhi acha performance dia hai.

I have seen Mohan lal wala version. It was great.
But I dunno I found Hindi version more intriguing.

Also disagree about Ajay, he was excellent IMO.

Mohanlal was amazing in the original.
Ajay at least acted in some movie after a long time.
Tabu was also not that impressive.

I liked the south versions Better. Tamil was pretty good I thought they will screw up.
But for Hindi, it had lots of scope for performance.. Which was different. It didn't strike a cord tho.

I dont watch film in any other language except hindi
I have watched only Ajay's drishyam

I feel Ajay is one of the best actor in this industry, his eyes have more expression than face of many actors.

*spoiler*

In climax Ajay just nailed it. There was no guilt in his eyes, he just said sorry for the loss of parents, but 0 zero guilt for that incident. That was most real scene. No father should ever mourn or feel guilt becoz a guy who molested his daughter died.

I think these Hindi remakes are more ( obviously not limited) for audiences who have not seen the regional versions or cannot do to language barriers ( like myself). As someone who had not seen it prior and had no platform for comparison I thoroughly enjoyed it and found Ajay's acting on par.
