With television networks readying their big programming properties for the festive season, BizAsiaLive.com understands that Sony Entertainment Television is lining-up the biggest movie in the history of Indian cinema, on its channel for Diwali.

BizAsiaLive.com has learned that Yash Raj Films' super hit blockbuster Sultan' will lead Sony TV's festive programming. The wrestling drama starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, is still running at cinemas and was one of the quickest movies to pass the Rs. 300 crore mark at the domestic box office window.

Sultan' is described as a romantic action drama based on the life of a fictional Haryana based wrestler and mixed martial arts specialist Sultan Ali Khan.

A date is yet to be confirmed but the broadcaster will premiere the film globally in October.

Sultan vs Kabali: Despite huge collections, Rajinikanth FAILS infront of Salman

Megastar Rajinikanth's recent release Kabali' is creating a lot of buzz since its release on July 22. The movie, which released amidst fan frenzy, is doing a commendable business at the box office.

This Rajikanth starrer has smashed several records in India. In fact, Kabali' went on to beat Salman Khan's much hyped Sultan' in first day collection.

Kabali' minted Rs 48.95 crores on its day of release, while Sultan' earned Rs 37.50 crores.

While a lot was being said about Thalaiva dethroning the Bajrangi Bhaijaan' actor, here comes the another part of the story.

Post the first weekend, the match has gone in favour of Salman Khan.

Yes! According to the recent reports it is Sultan' who is ruling the overseas market.

As per the stats, the Thalaiva starrer has minted Rs 33 crores in the international market in the opening weekend. Though it has surpassed Bahubali' collections of Rs 30 crores, but Kabali' is way too behind from Sultan' which earned Rs 92 crore overseas.

Looks like Salman Khan's wrestling drama has actually made him the Sultan' of box office, as Kabali' fails to leave a mark on the overseas audience.
