MEW: Ya I know all that, I was just a bit confused whether it was Khilji or not.. Good to know my memory is not eroding, lol. And second Alexander isn't that far off.. Except he had none of Alexander's wisdom & positive initiative, just a male lover.

Pi: Milind Soman would be the most aesthetically pleasing choice <3 loool, and he's a good actor too! Hope he repeats him too since SLB is a big fan of recycling. Nawaz would be another really good choice but I can't see him working in a SLB movie.. SLB sea too obsessed with beauty.. Soman I hope. But I doubt SLb is going to touch upon the real nature of their relationship, or is just going to gloss over it. He'll focus only on this obsession with Padma. I would love to see a movie about Khilji & Kafur!!

Kafur was no better, MEB.. Not only he aided the death of Khilji, But I believe he also killed Khilji's son's, blinded one and set a 3 YO as the successor ( fully intending to kill him and usurping the throne eventually) ... His plans were successful but his own soldiers turned upon him and killed him as well..

Not surprising, there were 2 slaves who rose to become sultans... Kafur from Khilji and Aybak from Ghor... I suppose, if we dig deep we will come with many upstarts who may been slaves before their usurpation of the kingdom.

^^ Yes I know he wasn't, but it can also be argued that slavery & becoming someone's forced lover, not to mention the castration would change a man a little (A LOT) it was a dog eat dog world anyway!! So I've no sympathy for any. Everyone only looks out for themselves esp in true days of monarchies since conspiracies were galore & upstarts were too many. And history tells us that yes, many many dynasties/kingdoms have been established by slaves & upstarts.. It's all a cycle which will end, a never-ending cycle of Up & Down, the fatalistic seesaw.. Ah anyway, I would like to see a movie with Kafur & Khilji but that will never be made in Idia in a commercial setup by a mainstream director for another 50 years maybe, lol. Although SLB would again be the best choice to make it.

existance of padmini is not a proven fact,but rajput community have utmost faith in her tales,so not sure about her.But khilji was a tyrant.sultani rule was much ruthless and less seculiar than mughal rule,and khilji and giasuddin balban were the most ruthless one among the sultans,least tyrant being sultan iltutmish,the father of razia sultan.rulers those days were anyway villainous if we go by the morals of this century,and khilji was considered ruthless even in his times.He did create a organized disciplined kingdom though,but based on fear.He had spies everywhere and people were scared of saying even a word against him as anyone anywhere could be his spy.

Wasn't Padmavat , the poem written by Jayasi? The whole version about him attacking Chittor for her is fiction , it might be one of the "added bonus" he sought but it probably was war for land and other exploits. Or it could be just the ego trip too.

She did what was Queens of those times did, it was either dying or being a slave to the enemy.
