Argue coz Gate wasn't closed yet. Obviously koi udi hui flight to vapas nai bulvayega. This has happened only once. And that was coz rent car return was delayed by their employees.
And argue does not mean literal sense me mara - mari. Requesting style but chillake requesting. 😆😆

The first time I came to US, security personnel at Bombay airport tells me, M not allowed Laptop bag. I was traveling on Student Visa. It's allowed. I showed them in written. Then he tells me, you have to pay $50 for it. Meri satki fir. Ek toh abhi US pahonchi nahi mein, inhe abhi se dollar chahiye. That to for something I am allowed to take in flight. Fir chillam chilli. Mene bol diya, nahi pay karungi kuch bhi. Wo fir aur 2 uncles ko leke aaye. mujhe side mein bulaya n all that. I stayed firm on my point. After which they realized, yaha se extra income nahi hogi, they let me go.

You won't believe, Hamare desh mein, airport pe bahot paise aithe jate hai. Dara dara ke. You gotta know some rules n stay firm.

Airport is probably the worst place for anyone to get into pissing contest. The only thing comes close is land border crossing. It is not worth getting into these stupid arguments and waste your time and trip. Airport authorities have far more powers than police officers they can pretty much do anything they want to do with you or make your life difficult. Seen this time and time again especially recently on a flight to New York at Dubai Airport. Some desi guy got into an argument about his carry on baggage and wouldnt put it in checked area. The Flight attend twice asked him to lower his voice and he didnt. Next thing TSA agents along with dubai police boarded the aircraft and removed him and revoked his student visa.

Something similar happened with me too.. I was flying on student visa and jet has 10kgs extra allowance for students over and above the usual 30kgs. Mine was 32 or something and they were asking me to pay for it 🤓 I was adamant on not paying.. they called their seniors and all and finally i was allowed the luggage without paying a penny extra. This too was at mumbai airport!

Not blaming all, But Mumbai Airport is known for their cheap tactics to luto more paise.

I have heard cases, where officials asks for old passport of Indians who are American citizens, citing they don't need it and rules says they should submit their expired passports at airport.

First of all there is no such rule. And why would an American citizen has to submit their passport at Indian airport. These passports are then sold at higher price and used for illegal entry in US by forging it. I know a lady who had to argue for it coz she was educated enough to know better.

Some cases, where if you aren't aware, they have torn visa page off passport. At Ahmedabad airport, they are always asking money to even get your own luggage off the belt.

You just gotta know rules n be aware at airports.

Yes they do that. Getting a visa from them is a joke. They outsource and change companies between BLS, Travisa, Cockney and kings etc. They do not respond to emails and are highly unprofessional and make up rules as they go. My parents gave up their Indian citizenship long time ago when they became some other citizen. But years later suddenly they decided that if you want Indian visa you must surrender your indian passport even the expired ones. Yes fine, but then they said they must also pay penalty of $300 each. They did this to thousands and thousands of foreigners of desi origin. After that they introduced OCI so they got that, which was additional $1000 dollars something and took months to process. It was supposedly for lifetime but they then put weird clauses in it. Frst they said you dont need to carry the booklet only the oci sticker. Then they said you need to carry both. Then they made changes that you must transfer the sticker into your new passport and pay additional fees. And here is the worst joke of all. Also happened at Mumbai airport. Now you cna no longer take Indian money to India. I thought it was a joke and the immigration guy said I can only bring 10000 rupees. how can you survive with ten thousand rupees on your trip?

I had to travel to Tel Aviv once and it was the worst mistake of my life.I spent close to 5 hours of harrassment because I was a single, young guy of brown skin. Took every ounce of patience and on my part not to lose my cool and cooperate. But the good part was they were not just harrassing me but many others too 😆
