Has Karan Johar failed to live up to his classics KKHH and KKKG?!

Karan Johar started off so well with his first two blockbusters in KKKH and KKKG. 😉 Both are iconic movies remembered for their starcasts and storylines. But it seems like KANK started the downhill trend. Then what the hell was My Name is Khan and Student of the Year? 😕 His upcoming ADHM hopefully puts him back on the map. Please share your thoughts. Has Karan Johar failed to live up to his classics KKHH and KKKG?! 😲

KJo overdid it in KANK. I can't believe that he did it with such a strong star cast 😔

Only Kjo movie I loved was KHNH. Kal ho na will be his best and he won;t be able to beat it.

He will falter in ADHM. Theme is Muslim, and he has no clue about muslim life. Ash and her demand for more screen time may kill Anu's role and that would be disaster.

Student Of The Year was a flipped/modernized version of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

And KANK basically shit on all the values bestowed in K3G

My Name is Khan was good, but strayed away from the type of cinema he is known to make.

I doubt ADHM will prove anything, the cast is already a flop as it is...

KJO was very much interested in the art of making movies during KKHH and K3G. He was also working with people he considers family, are terrific actors on their own and have chemistry like SRK-Kajol ,mega talented like AbSr and Jaya and know him very well, so they compensated for his flaws. Most of all KJO loved making those movies and it is seen in the work.

KJO gets lost when he is at the helm with people he does not know very well. Very much demonstrated in SOTY. All three actors were terrible in it, all three improved drastically in their next movies. Unless there was a talent transplant, they were badly directed.

ADHM though, I am going to say Ranbir would not not just taken direction from KJO but been a bit more involved. He badly needs a hit and it would not surprise me if he consulted Ayan frequently as IMO Ranbir respects Ayan more as a director and Ayan is a better director than KJO. But the proof as they say is in the pudding, so we will see.

I don't know about kjo but recently dharma producty proved with kapoor and sons that they can make realistic and genuine family stories. Its one of the best movies for dharma after emaet and dostana.

Yes ,his subsequent efforts have been way below the mark .No where close to these two gems .His career trajectory has gone downhill with each new film .

KKHH>k3g>>>>KANK>MNIK>>>SOTY
