Bollywood heroine character are always virgins? Why?

I was reading stories on wattpad. Most of thise writers are americans and most of them keep their heroines virgin for the hero where hero is shown as a big casanova even if he is sadu. So it is not just asia thing.

More then oldies,

Girls also like their guy Casanova.

That IPK serial which was damm famous with youngsters had the same story. So called 'pure' heroine and 'baddie' hero. Majority IF was mad over that serial. So mainly Young Indian and ABCD girls. Young generation ki hi soch aisi hai.. can't blame oldies then.

It is fine you want your heroini all sati saavitri types.. But then why ok for bad guy? Guy koi bhi toh virgin honaa maangta.

I guess its because its a male fantasy to have sex with a virgin woman. Hence to cater to that fantasy, the movie makers do that. Besides the makers are also men so they understand it better😆 This mindset is universal but since women are more empowered and have better social status so they too make the choices they desire. Infact nowadays the women in metros are making their own choices, its slowly changing and may be it will be reflected in movies too.

More than men.. it's women who watches these TV serials more.. even movies too.

and they want their heroine virgin, and hero Casanova. So first women need to change their mindset. If they are more than welcoming for non-virgin hero, why can't they be ok with their own being non-virgin. 😕 It is so ingrained in their mindset. it is baffling.

Its strange even worldwide this is common...whats this obsession with a virgin girl? Btw I was just thinking its actually quite bizzare. We readily accept casanova guys (rather find them quite interesting) but what if a girl was shown totally casanova...someone who has had relationships/ons before and have relationships that dont end more than a month...will the society really accept such characters? This typically shows our reality as a civilization. We are still quite behind.

PS I am glad atleast BW is trying to break this image...slowly but steadily...this is not about a casanova girl being more attractive but its about equality in terms of acceptance. We saw this in Anjana Anjani, whereas PCs character was not a virgin, Ranbir was. Even in SDR both Pari and Vaani's characters were quite bold. Good that our cinema is changing and becoming more liberal towards women.

Yes true. Actually I was referring more to BW movies. Moreover its Men who perpetrate this idea into the mindset as they are majorly the bread earners and dominant socially so what they desire they propagate. On TV, yes many women are ingrained with the regressive idea of playing a subservient role to men so they cater to all their ideas and fantasies. I guess unless women stand up for themselves and develop self esteem, its tough.

Same. I read novels by foreign authors only and 90% books have that awkward shy girl next door who was dumped by her ex boyfriend because she couldn't kiss well or some other sh*t and then this virgin girl gets attracted to hot, tattooed Casanova guy who sleeps around. This is the basic crux of all novels.

American shows nd movies are advanced though.
