I would have probably liked Ram Leela better if Deepika wasn't a virgin in the movie and Ranveer had been one. It would have made for an interesting change imo.

Even now ? In YJHD I don't think the Kalki character was a virgin when she married and even the DP character. She says she does not drink after 8 years when she remet the Ranbir character and he calls her out on her lie, but when the camera man comes to meet her by the pool side it is with drinks and she doesn't blink an eye even before seeing the Ranbir character. His surprise of "I thought you only drank with me" I always thought applied to other things too.

There's a movie of Ranbir and Priyanka. I forgot it's name. In that movie, priyanka laughs and makes fun of Ranbir when he tells he is a virgin. Priyanka was not a virgin in that movie.

In EMAET also Kareena was not virgin when she met the hero.

In SDR,Parineeti had aborted her baby when she broke up with her first boyfriend. Sushant was her second one.

In pyar ka punchnama almost all of them were none virgin. I think that's also one of the reason why it worked for the younger mass...

In the beginning yes, but she says she has moved on after the first flashback. I don't think she ever thought she would meet the Ranbir character again. The whole saying she will not drink in public even after 8 years but the camera man meeting her with drinks near the pool, she flirting with the guy with those songs all make me think she was not so innocent after 8 years after all . If you want to further push it, the pool side kiss on the side of the DP's character is not like someone who has never been kissed, she responds in kind 😆

It reflects the society na? Look around in desi communities whether in India or abroad and tell me that girls that were in some sort of prior relationships have the same level of respect as the ones who did not. Even if the girls that were in prior relationships are a match to the guy in every other way. They are viewed as used goods (forgive my language). On the other hand men who are in that kind of situations are admired for their Casanova image. Sad but that's the reality.

I think BW is changing...There are many movies where everyone is non-virgin.. For example I am sure Deepika was a non-virgin in tamasha before she met Ranbir. Same for Anu in DDD...

But yeah, society is still very prejudiced against non-virgin girls .

Even some of my guy friends share that mentality which is sad... Once we were talking about a girl who got married for a second time after a divorce, and he said that he could never marry a divorced chick because why should he use "an opened bottle?" 🤢
