By mistake I pressed 'Enter' and the topic was posted before I could put something of an explanation in the actual post so had to edit it fast to salvage the topic.
That aside, the point is... Shah didn't want a clash, that too with YRF. But, he did say if nothing works out, they will go ahead with the release. So, I guess I'm just a bit upset they decided to shift it all the way to next year. It's not about claiming a date, but then again, that's what it comes down to, doesn't it?
No big film want a clash to prevent eating into each others' profit. Why make 100 crore when you can make 200? That is common business sense and yes, the market is big to accomodate both big movies, but YRF and Shah do know their business...it's not likely that each person will spend on two tickets, many ppl will just end up choosing one movie over the other. And I guess that's where the profit deductions happen.
That's why in the end, IF only one movie can release in Eid, then which one should it be?
