exactly😆...if u are number 3...then that is where u are going to stay...SRK has nothing to lose wali situation hai...I don't see the point of not releasing it on Eid...but whatever😆😆

@bold: I never said that. I was supporting BM more or less when BM and Dilwale were clashing, I haven't even watched Dilwale... So, don't put me in that category unless you've seen me doing it.

Yes, I do agree that everyone should be allowed to release whenever they want. But that's not how Bollywood and its biggies work now. BO decides your standing...see how freely everyone is declaring Fan a flop everywhere, who cares about the actor that emerged once again? When CE did well, Shah's victory was all over the place ...but we don't see that with Fan because it was a boxoffice failure, atleast domestically.

No one is willing to change the system when they are getting the benefits in one way or another from it.

But that is how it has always been right? Aamir is praised so much not only becuase he makes great films but also because they have universal appeal and manage to do extremely well..That balance is hard to achieve and SRK/Salman haven't been managing that for most part of the decade. That is where the problem lies..All these debates aside, even now if SRK/Salman make a great film ala BB or 3 Idiots (something which appeals to everyone), then it'l be a blockbuster..Am not sure why they chose to postpone it..If its a good film, it is bound to do well..SRK, the clash, Eid, the promos etc. would have given enough buzz to the film..All they need is good WOM..Am not sure what they are scared of..Unless of course its a bad film 😕

By mistake I pressed 'Enter' and the topic was posted before I could put something of an explanation in the actual post so had to edit it fast to salvage the topic.

That aside, the point is... Shah didn't want a clash, that too with YRF. But, he did say if nothing works out, they will go ahead with the release. So, I guess I'm just a bit upset they decided to shift it all the way to next year. It's not about claiming a date, but then again, that's what it comes down to, doesn't it?

No big film want a clash to prevent eating into each others' profit. Why make 100 crore when you can make 200? That is common business sense and yes, the market is big to accomodate both big movies, but YRF and Shah do know their business...it's not likely that each person will spend on two tickets, many ppl will just end up choosing one movie over the other. And I guess that's where the profit deductions happen.

That's why in the end, IF only one movie can release in Eid, then which one should it be?

OUATIMD was also suppose to release first in 2013, announced a year back, then why chennai express came, srk requeted it to move further, then thr was no problem. Now if makers decide themselves then also other party's fault?

Raees isnt releasing on eid..so no point in discussing...
But this moving of date isnt going to be of any good... already we can see ppl's reaction on this..

all i knw is tht 26th jan 2017 is the worst possible release date for this movie
