I kind of remember pardon my memory but quite a few movies do keep on with the promotion spree even after the movie release..

and regarding sultan.. well Salman's name is associated with Olympics now.. everybody fans and non fans are talking about Sultan connection. any publicity is good publicity.
may be I am lone ranger thinking this way.. or am I?😊

I knew you would use wrestling as an example but that requires broadbasing too...same is the case with boxing which seems concentrated in and around Bhiwani and other centres in North India. Also commercialisation of these sports is easier when Bwood celebs associate their names such as Kabaddi League... or Pro-wrestling. I really see no point in letting this star power going to waste when it can be used to benefit sports.

Im really sorry if my comment above hurt anyone. Its a sensitive point that's why I was little hesitate to press it. Because some gonna be generalize and take it all in wrong way. Pardon!

As some members mentioned here, Bollywood shouldn't represent sports event because India has their own sportsmen's. They should represent Olympics & others sports event because they are well aware about the spirit and had performed in the same field.

But why do they allow bollywood actor to sing National Anthem on recent event (World Cup) and there are many more if we count. they can hire sportsman for that occasion too. And I didn't see any objection during that time.

Why to blame Salman? He didn't ask them to appoint him. It was their decision and its better if we stop blaming bollywood celebrities over someone else fondness towards them. They are popular in many ways, why not cash through their popularity. Itna toh haq banta hai desh ka. Its India citizen who made them popular and they have every right to use their popularity to gain more viewer thn usual.

No doubt, Olympic is very popular. But how many of us are following the whole event in real without giving a miss? Majority of the Indian are into cricket. Anything about cricket drag them to on the TV. Nothing sort of that happen for Olympic, kabaddi & hockey. Recently, India hockey team was in final though they lost but still they were in final, no joke! When there is no proper promotion how that can create buzz and awareness for the public to know what the team is actually doing?!.

Besides, we don't know much where Salman role gonna fit here. Just because of one article everyone ready with their bullets. What if he didn't promote his movies during the occassions? Yaar, its too early to jump on a conclusion. Just wait.
