Yes, he tends to be very cynical/sarcastic and run-of-the-mill stuff doesn't appeal to him. The fact that critics are seeing the message/point behind the movie and appreciating it rather than focusing on the details of the screenplay makes me very happy because that's how a message like Fan's needs to be perceived.

If you want, it's quite long and a bit old, but Masand, Anupama, Raja Sen and Mayank did this interview together...they even make mention of SRK at the end, his name comes up...😆 It's an interesting, insightful watch. I find that this group and Guha usually get it right with regards to most movies.
