The Jungle Book' has shown phenomenal growth at the box office in India, recording collections in excess of Rs 13.5 crore on Day 2. The jump in business from Friday to Saturday is way better than a film like Airlift' which rose by 18%, while The Jungle Book' has grown by 34% on Saturday.
On Sunday, the occupancy continued to very high both for the morning and noon shows at cities. The advance booking for the evening is incredibly high, so the film is certain to record business in excess of 15 crore on Sunday. The first weekend business could touch 40 crore, second only to the Rs 44.30 crore total of Airlift.
Last year, Fast and Furious 7 collected Rs 36.55 in its first weekend. The Jungle Book' is all set to surpass the record set by the Vin Diesel film last year.
