Fawad gets upgraded

Fawad's role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been increased thanks to his popularity post Kapoor & Sons

Before Kapoor & Sons released, many considered it an Alia Bhatt-Sidharth Malhotra film and Fawad Khan as the third wheel in the love triangle. But Fawad bowled everyone with his performance. Those waiting to declare him a one-film-wonder after Khoobsurat, have now joined his fan club. His first film put him on the Bollywood map, with his second film, he has created a niche for himself. Khan was so good in the film that he stole the limelight away from everyone, including Rishi Kapoor.

Fawad had signed a three-film deal. The first one behind him, he is now busy with shooting of his next film " Ae Dil Hai Mushkil " which is in progress. This one has Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. He plays a DJ in this film directed by the Dharma boss Karan Johar. When we last met him, he told us, "I have shot some of my portions already for the film. Now, I have a few more days of shooting left on the film."

A close source to the production tells us, "Fawad has become a star after Kapoor & Sons. His role, which was more of an extended guest appearance in ADHM has been altered. Now, it won't just be a cameo, it's almost as much as Salman's role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. So, Fawad will be seen in a supporting role, not a cameo, even in the film credits."

There are reasons for that too. "Fawad and Karan are extremely close friends now and besides, Fawad is a big draw across the border and in the Middle East. He is a big draw in certain overseas markets, so through him, ADHM will reach a bigger audience."

Fawad is already camping with the team in Jaipur where they are filming a few talkie portions and a beautiful song. In addition to these, he is in talks with KJo for his third film " a romcom starring him in the lead.

I knew something like this would happen. In fact someone told me "wait and watch his role will increase."

Fawad did mention during k&s promotions that it's a small role and not a cameo; however, I have a feeling it may increase further.

Anyway Fawad be careful and don't sign roles where you have 2-3 scenes. As a fan it's hard to pay for tickets knowing you won't be there throughout. Plus you will be drawing a lot of people to theaters and unfortunately you won't get any credits as it's not a solo hero movie.

glad to know that his talent is being appreciated..but I don't want him working too much with kjo 🤔 would love to see him work with more talented directors

No doubt that KJo cast Imran Abbas, etc. for the same reason...to broaden the target audience. However, this one week Rajasthan schedule of the movie was already known of even before Kapoor & Sons released and Fawad himself had mentioned he still had to shoot more days. And it's been a few days now since they've finished it off and returned so this writer is very late 😆

Anyways, Anushka is starting Phillauri next week and apparently the only filming schedule left now is Aishwarya's...so unless he is getting more work with her, this news seems to be simply for sensation or to cash in on K&S success/bait Fawad fans to watch the movie.

lol this may actually be true. fawad fans don't get to see him often and they would watch anything with him in it.

It's too late to make any big changes to the script if they want the October release and KJo has been giving full takkar to Shivay fans on Twitter 😆 They may indeed put in more shots of Fawad while in the editing room and create the trailer or posters such that he may feature in them if he wasn't already going to, but a bigger role in any significant sense as far as plot goes...I highly doubt it.

Fawad is KJo's little project, the special treatment is understandable 😆 This above description of him playing something like Salman's role in KKHH fits the story that was posted here about a month or so ago with the marriage and Fawad-Anushka having more interaction than Fawad-Ash as was speculated before.

I agree with others, it's too late to make any changes here. This is just the media just making things up to sensationalize things post K&S and Fawad's popularity as Kabeeraspeaking said. No matter what Ranbir is still the lead here and Karan won't undermine him or his popularity by pushing Fawad forward even if it is indirectly.
