Nope not because I'm an Udit fan. It's just that Sonu''s voice type is just not my type :) but my all time favourite sono was by Sonu :)

It depends which era you grow up in.

For me as a kid it was all about Kumar Sanu + Udit Narayan in the early 90s all the way to when I hit my teens in the early 00's. Sonu also joined the list of my most favs.

But the previous generation preferred their own singing voices.

The kids these days are growing up with Arijit Singh and Mohit Chauhan. They are equally as fantastic. And for them they are the best.

This happens with every generation.

Just look at old Kishore Kumar + Mohammed Rafi songs on YouTube and read the comments from the older generation. They are full of "music was so good back then" etc.

yeah but i was generally speaking not as a brand but as an artist ...Sonu put the soul into the song which these days are missing in singers voice Sonu was my fav since 1995 bewafa sanam , then sandesi ate hain and yeh dil dewana made him the versatile singer of late 90's as no one have touched the genre change singing at that time ...as much as i love kumar sanu and udit narayan sanu and udit along with other contemproroy singers were known to be someone who sang romantic n sad songs of similar kind over the years hence they never sang something out of their comfort zone...Sonu got a chance to sing the toughest composition of nusrat fateh ali khan in 1997 in film aur pyar hogaya that was "ek din kahin hum do mele aur teesra koi na ho" 😉... so as an artist his calbre and reyaaz is much higher then his contemporary singers of 90's and 00's ...Sonu in his carrier have touched and justified almost every genre in music ...he have sang songs that are of 90's and very dholak tabla kinda stuff and then he sang classical songs with ease then qawali to ghazal to pop to rock to blues to filmy to bhajans to high pitch songs to low pitch songs, to westren english he sang with brtiney and jermine jakson, his hard work and dedication for music is something to look after...he is more then a playback singer but in india musician can not be bigger then a film stars as in india music is a small part of films thats why he never got his due ...if he was born in west he could have made his name near to greats like elvis presley or micheal jakson etc...because west respect and give equal space to the singers as well ...

SPB voice quality is unique but odd for me Sonu Nigam have a sweet rafi type voice he sang bhout pyar karte hain tumko sanam that sounded better SPB chk this one ...Sonu is also superior to SPB in term of versatility
