The new singers can sing no doubt but you don't hear the passion in the voice like Sonu Nigam . He makes you feel like he's the character himself singing about his own experience.

He is a good singer, but if we are talking people who sing with passion and imbibe the song with emotion, Sonu Nigam is not the first name I would come up with. Rafi Saab, S.P. Balasunramamium, Yesudas are more that type to me.

Sonu is really a trend setter and no new comer singer cannot be compare with him. But oldies had class I new. Singers like shamshad begum,noorjehan,latadidi, madam,rafi Sahab,kishor Kumar,mukesh,they set a bar . Which Sp bala,udit,Kumar,pankaj,jagjit try to touch. Sonu came I think after there era but he's really talented and had individuality.

i dont find SPB something extra ordinary and this is the duet of Sonu and Spb ...Sonu surpassed SPB by far when it comes to expressions and feel

even the music review writer said

"Jaa Ri Jaa Ai Hawa" reminds of old numbers by Mohd. Rafi and at the same time it touches a new pop phase in the industry. Sonu Nigam sings the song to his best and is definatly one of his best Hindi numbers to date (that aren't Mohd. Rafi songs sung by him). S.P. Balasubrimanium is great also and ends the song with a bang, although he cannot match Sonu's voice"

Sonu came in 1993 94 in udit and kumar days but got a big hit in 1995 with acha sila deya tune mere pyar ka and then hits after hits from from barsaat 1995 to govinda maha raja 97 to pardes yeh dil dewana to sandese ate hai from border 1997 to sangharsh mujey raat din etc and so on ad one of my fav akhiyoon se goli mare from dulhe raja 1998 to abhi saans lene ke fursat nahi hai jeet 1995 ...he had so many hits even in 90's

Sonu is first of its kind a singer who can sing anything and sing in any one no other from rafi times to now can do this and the mimicry talent is awesome

Sangarsh songs are so underrated 😳

lol because you are fan of udit narayan 😃 and i love sonu's soulful sweet voice more then any other singer but respect udit equally ...udit sonu shanu are three singers i grown up listening to ...its not like to love sonu i have to hate udit or to love udit i have to hate sonu 😛 its an odd mindset they all are great

listen this you will start liking his soulful voice 😉 its something i guess no one even the olds can not give the same expression with which he sang it ...the unplugged version of dhalne lagi hai raat koi baat keejye
