Maybe the lack of US Nationals on this list can be defined by the fact that some top Corporations' head honchos are involved. And this might also be a ploy to ged rid of certain competitors of other countries.

ICIJ is a reputed group, yes. But one can never know for sure what goes on behind closed doors where these "whistle-blowers" are concerned. For all the hoopla around Snowden, he was ultimately outed as a Russian spy when he leaked information to Putin about the location of US secret submarines in East Europe. So we never know.

As expected, China was quick to ban any news feed or link concerning the matter, since many of the "companies" on the list involve relatives of Xinping. 😆

I'm surprised that no Indian politicos' names have popped up yet; or any of the Ambanis'. Though, Vinod Adani's name in the list will cause a hint of discomfort to Modi. 😆

However, Amitabh has had this for 23 years, which is not legal as per RBI norms.

In 2004 RBI allowed to remit funds overseas,(initially it was $25000 pa and now the limit is $250,000 pa) which was not allowed before, for education, medical treatment, etc. It let individuals to buy shares under LRS but never allowed to set up a company. Only in August 2013, individuals were allowed to setup subsidiaries or invest in joint ventures under Overseas Direct Investment.

Last year ICIJ started a project named The Panama Paper joined by 375 journalists over 76 countries. In India it was 'The Indian Express' who joined them in their investigation.
