See the thing is that Amit ji is a phenomenal actor and it's really commendable what he can do at this age. There is no doubt he'll be remembered as an icon, a legend. There's also no doubt he was fabulous in Piku. Not taking a single ounce of credit away from him. Now looking at Ranveer... He's a newer actor in the industry who started of strong, had some lows, and then came back with a big bounce. He excelled as Bajirao. His work should have been noticed. His work needs to be noticed. The movie did well and he portrayed his character immensely well. After BBB, he really came back with a bang. I didn't like him after BBB in all the films he did in-between. Amit ji to hai hi kamal ke, but it's time to recognize newer and fresher talent.

ofcourse ab...ranveer still has a long long long way to go before he reaches the perfection with which ab played the part in piku

ranveer was gud but nothing geat n was flat in many scenes in bajirao

Now call me whatever but according to me Ranbir was way better in Bombay Velvet than Ranveer in Bajirao Mastani... Now have a field day Ranveer-Deepika fans and bash ranbir left right and centre 😆 Ranveer's performance in Bajirao Mastani is one of the overly praised performances of my lifetime...

Then Ranbir should have won jury award like Kalki😛. Sadly there he has tough competition from Nawaz😆

Both of them are good when you compare with the sub-par mainstream performances. Ranveer a bit better than AB. But none of them are NA worthy. Anyone know who all are nominated?

I think Ranveer was better than AB . But he shouldn't have won it either . The ending of BM really put me off . Maybe give it to some third party

I dont think there was anything exceptional in AB's role or his performance but Ranveer's character and performance both were much better than AB's

Yes. Ranveer was the one I felt was robbed.

ETA; And I would dare anyone in BW to say that. Even SLB shut up when he should have said that Ranveer deserved it. Instead he said Deepika or PC for national award. 🤔 If anyone deserved an award for BM it was Ranveer

i don't know whether Ranveer deserved it...haven't watched non-hindi performances...
but i can definitely say amitabh bachchan didn't deserve it for piku... he was really good, but it was not enough for national award looking at previous winning performances...
So, Ranveer was definitely more deserving than AB
