So people expect her to abandon her work and go party? if she had cancelled her shoot and partied everyone would have been bashing her for not being professional. Poor DP would get bashed either way, no way out for her

Deepika Padukone made headlines after she skipped Sanjay Leela Bhansali's party recently. The actress was in Mumbai, but did not join her beau Ranveer Singh to celebrate the Bajirao Mastanidirector's win. Reports suggested that Deepika was upset with the National Awards this year. A source told DNA, "She was really hurt by the National Awards snub. She had won all the popular awards for her performance in Piku and Bajirao Mastani. She expected the National Award too. When it didn't happen she lost her appetite to celebrate with her Bajirao Mastani team."

BollywoodLife spoke to Bhansali on Deepika ditching his celebrations and here's what the director said, "I have no idea why Deepika did not come for the success party. I heard she was leaving for Canada and she had a 10pm flight. But Ranveer was there and I had my whole cast and crew and we had a great time celebrating the success of our film."

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali is taking no offense and in fact had a blast with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and his newest blue-eyed boy Ranveer Singh some feel that Deepika giving the party a miss was deliberate. Buzz is that Deepika was upset coz she felt she deserved the National Awards this year for Piku or Bajirao Mastani, both of her films that bagged her the best actress at almost all popular awards this year. Some felt that the actress could have easily come in for a bit and then left for the airport. However she chose to skip it altogether.
