- The movie pulls you in and keeps you engaged throughout so that's greatm
- Alia was horribly underused in the movie which sucks. But the great thing is that she delivers in every scene. So as a fan, I was happy. It's just that the movie wouldn't have missed anything if Tia's character wasn't in it because it IS essentially about the Kapoor clan. The one big last minute "conflict" that happens cuz of here was terrible imo. Just added for some last minute angst.
- Rishi Kapoor's character was the soul of the movie. Had the best moments.
- Fawad was MUAH. Such impactful screen presence and brilliant justice to his character. I specially loved his chemistry with his on-screen mother, Ratna Shah.
- Sid 😳 I read on the forum that Fawad had the more meaty role so obviously his performance had greater impact. That is not the case. Arjun Kapoor was complex and honestly, his issues were the realest of the lot. But while others had their shine moment in the movie, Sid fails to deliver that. It's not like he didn't get the chance...the last 20 minutes were his ground but meh.
- The placement of Bolna - what the hell was that? Ainvayi ghusaad diya 😆
- Some bits were cliched. Could seen them coming from miles away. Some were unexpected so kul mila ke chalega.
- My most favorite thing is the way Shakun Batra dealt with the issues. Brilliant! The nuance with which he told this story leaves a mark. There's no OTT, in your face stuff which would make one uncomfortable. The things do seamlessly fit together. There's no big statement that the movie is trying to make. It's just simply a story with its heart at the right place.
- The humor was great though! Some genuine laugh out loud moments were sprinkled throughout the movie so one doesn't get bored.
- All in all, a good movie which makes you laugh and cry. Not in extremes ke hans hans ke pait dard hojae ya ro ro ke ankhen sooj jayen. But you feel the emotions because the connect with the characters is real. Can't call it a movie which I'd watch again and again but it's definitely something I'd enjoy if I watch it after some stretch of time.
3/5 from my side.
