Yea I'm noticing that there is a difference in how people hear accents. I was watching a little bit of Juhi and Madhuri on KWK and was surprised when Juhi made a reference to Madhuri's American accent. She has none. But maybe sometimes people hear an Americanized expressions or slang and think the person has an accent. Or maybe when they notice a change or modification in the person's speech or po*nounciation from what it used to be its automatically thought that they picked up their new hometown's accent.

To me an American accent is Nargis Fakhri. I have noticed Imran Khan saying certain words more the American way. Frankly I think Abhishek has less of an Indian accent than Priyanka, and he still has an accent.

^ Ya B jr & his sister don't have an Indian accent I reckon if you're American/origin then you'll notice such nuances more. Yes Fakhri does have a pretty strong American accent. But I think what you mean is that Madhuri had a twang, not an accent. She doesn't have it now. We all use American/British slang but that doesn't make our voices, accented.

Do you've an American accent?

No I don't think Paige. PC can act whereas Katrina's acting hasn't improved.

Didn't PC study in America? Because like Kareena once said on KWK where she got her accent from and I've seen her with an American accent and it was kind of cringeworthy years ago.

Katrina definitely does not have a British accent.

MEB, yes I do have an American accent. And though it's a little different now but growing up I was in a typical Midwestern mostly Caucasian suburbs.

Twang would be the perfect word to describe what I was trying to say in the confusion with accent, thank you.

On a completely unrelated note, I misspelled pronounciation in my previous post and IF thought I was making a po*n reference so it got asterisked. 🤣 I get amused easily.

I feel to that in order for these Bollywood actresses to be successful in the West they need to have that vivacious personality and style...the ability to be the center of attention.

Kat on the other hand is the opposite...she does only what she needs to and then she runs off. So based on that...no. Although she certainly has the perfect figure for it

I just want to put acting capability aside and just make a comment.

Commercially speaking Katrina is a bigger brand than Priyanka Chopra. She may not have the acting talent that PC has, but shes a much bigger star and celebrity than Priyanka in India...and quite frankly she doesnt need to go to Hollywood...whereas Priyanka does.

There is very little left for Priyanka to do in Bollywood. Shes done it all - shes played a Prostitute, Girl Next Door, Villain, Fashion Model, Singer, Psychopath, Autistic, Suicidal, Cop, Villagar, Olympic Boxer, Typical House wife roles. I dont feel like there is much left for her to do in Bollywood. Plus - as a "star" shes not THAT popular.

Priyanka studied in the US from grade 8 to 11! She has two Massi's in the US, she stayed with them... Couple years in Boston with one and a couple years in New York with the other! PC spent her formative years in the US, of course her English will be slightly different than most people from India.
