RAEES updates # 2 - Page 36

I think the movie is wrapped up. Rahul tweeted a week or so back about editing it now. Shahrukh too said in his last fame video that it has wrapped. At the end of the day, no matter what the reason is, the perception right now is that the filmmakers didn't have enough faith in the project and I hate that perception. Besides like I said if the point was to avoid the clash, why clash with two other big movies! I don't think anyone who has followed Raees ever thought it's a typical masala movie. It's not! The audience knows that so if they backed out thinking that folks will prefer Sultan as it's more commercial then I don't agree with it. If Raees is a darn good movie, if it connects with the audience then it'll work, clash or no clash. Infact it had so much buzz around it with just two posters and a teaser! I would have still understood had they shifted it to another date in this year but shifting it all the way to 26 Jan makes no sense to me. It's Republic Day. A movie based on a gangster apt for that time? Anywho, just hope this move doesn't end up backfiring man. I hope the movie does tremendous business whenever it releases.

FAN was a niche film, one that was quite dark as well! Raees is way more commercial than FAN! Not to mention it was the perfect film to release on EID considering the backdrop of the movie. They had the option to choose any date yet they chose EID so that to me says it's meant for EID. Now they're shifting it all the way to Republic day where two more movies are releasing, like I said I don't get it. That's the part that makes the least sense to me. Why not then shift it to a date where you get a solo release.

I think Shahrukh is very much part of the decision. Ritesh infact till not so long ago was all gung ho about it releasing on EID. The perception from it being darn good has changed to it possibly being crappy and I detest that perception. But you can't brush it aside considering they're choosing to come in January and that too with two other releases. The statement says something on the lines of how it deserves the best when it comes to showcasing it but then how does releasing it with two other movies is better than releasing it with one! Either they really don't have much faith in the project or there's something else that has gone on BTS that we aren't privy to. I read somewhere YRF has already booked most screens for Sultan but like I said if the aim is for Raees to get the space it deserves then why release it with two big movies. Or do they think the space that it'll get then is what it deserves as it ain't your typical masala movie.

They can't do this to us. I'm going to be so pissed if raees doesn't release this year.

This decision is the worst decision ever... i am so so sooo angry on shahrukh!!!!! why is he losing his confidence?????
They shud release it THIS YEAR ONLY.
26th Jan is the WORST possible date for a gangster kind of movie and that too clashing with two other big movies makes sense.??? DUH..

hate this and i m so so pissed off... :((((

Guys tell me is it totally confirmed??? Cant we do anything to convince them that they shud release it this year???
