I think its much about lack of talent. They are popular in tv shows due to their chemistry with their costars or the romantic fluffy stuff they do. They arent essentially talented. Example, Barun sobti is highly over-rated and so is Gurmeet chaoudhary. When even a million dollar looking Sid Malhotra gets criticized for his expressions. Then why wont these average looking actors.

But then we do have hope at the end of tunnel - Actors like Rajeev Khandelwal, Ayushman Khurana, Sushant are a talented lot. Not only they had their first movies doing well but also they have proved themselves many times. Yes they do have to struggle more owing to lack of contacts but again talent does take you places.
