Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor is currently flying high on the great response to her latest movie Neerja. She has got a lot of appreciation for her performance in the movie.

In a recent interview she said something about her acting and performance in every movie and how it is directly proportionate to her director.

I am a director's actor. If my director is satisfied, then for me the job is well done. At the end of the day, If I'm doing good work, it's because of the director and if I do poor work, it is because of the director.

Isn't that what Kareena said recently? So we are not supposed to applaud her for her performance in Neerja? sounds fine to me😆

Some forum members said the same in that improvement thread. Those who are not naturally talented and must work to put up a decent/good performance rely on their directors...their track records reflect that.

If you are an actress like Katrina then not even Woody Allen can come and make that muscle move...
So No! Not completely true...

Sometimes I don't understand this whole "director's actor" stuff.

You gotta have some SOME talent and be ready for whatever comes your way! You can't always be prepared.

She learnt NOTHING fromSLB?

She is not untalented. She has done Aisha nraanjhana but shud focus more on acting alone n join hands with good script n director. Will get better performances

I don think director's actor means an actor with zilch talent can succeed under a brilliant actor..Of course you need the basic talent and will to push yourself..But then there are actors who can make anything work..There are those who are so brilliant that you can give them a trashy script and a trashy director and they'l still manage to perform well and rise above the script..On the other hand, you have actors who have the talent but need a good director to channel it in the right direction..I think director's actors are those who belong to the later category..And then there are those like SRK and Kareena who have the tendency to ham but can be brilliant if given a good script & director..So yeah, thats how i understand director's actor anyway 😆

That's Sonam giving credit to the directors who made her shine.
Of course there is such a thing called director's actor, those director will push the actor until he/she gives the best of himself/herself.
It's like Farah Khan and SLB who made DP cry.

Sonam is a bad actress. She can perform decently-very decently, but she's a bad actress. And I agree with Roggie, that's how I understand "director's actor" too.
