She's not wrong. Like Aish is an director's actor. She even said so, she relies a lot on them and their vision. Some people are more spontaneous than others. I feel like Sonam used to be like that, but then she started taking coaching and acting courses and trained herself and has become more of a director's actor. I don't think she has ever been considered a bad actress, just a weak one. The only critique she constantly gets is voice issues or she can be too OTT in comedies. But she's worked on both of those things.

I mean even Deepika and Priyanka (though talented) were considered weak performers in their early years and worked really hard to perfect their craft.

Kareena and Rani on the other hand are good examples of people that are just naturally very gifted.

Here we go.

She cld've given the director credit without dissing almost everyone she worked with till today.

Yes, some directors bring the best in the actors then there some like the MPKDH director who wld traumatized the world for whatever reason.

But saying if I do poor work it's the director's fault is not right.

I'm not sure the statement is true, especially in Bollywood where familial connections play a huge part in getting roles and not directors' inputs or decisions even. If a director had no say in you getting the role and portraying his/her character then there is only so much he/she can do in making you do good work. I'm not saying I don't believe in director's actors as a general rule. I just think it's not something that can always be used as a point of discussion in Bollywood.

As for Sonam specifically, let's say for sake of argument that she is right. It is kind of in poor taste for her to express that so blatantly. I don't know the entire context of how this quote was said. But it sounds like she's blaming the directors for all of her short comings as an actor.

She is so hard to like because of her ridiculous statements.

Should have stayed quiet for a few weeks as these kind of nonsensical interview answers take attention away from her work.

Shes not entirely wrong. Yes Talent is very important, but it is ultimately the directors job to make everything work! Thats why certain actors are very good in certain films, and horrible in others.

Biggest example is Deepika who before Cocktail was a VERY VERY inconsistent actress! She was awful!!
