Ya I believe that during HSSH she tried her best to push Saif & Karisma together lol but nothing much transpired from that. Somehow I can't see those 2 together... Babita was also the first to spill the beans that Kareena-Saif were together & her daughter will become the next Begum Of Pataudi RIGHT at the beginning of thee relationship & Kareena got very upset with her because Saif got very upset with her.

If you mean in terms of career, the Pataudis because of Sharmila, are very open minded so it gives her the unnecessary restriction that actresses like Ash have to contend with. It makes her life easier & more fuss-free, domestically. It also gives her confidence because of her MIL's backing & a certain modern-traditional balance that frankly, I find lacking in the Bs & Ks who are un-necessarily traditional & smugly patriarchal.

That's precisely what I meant. I often wonder why our actresses fizzle it per marriage and tbh part of the problem is their own restrictions. And then once they take a break, audiences get it in their heads that they're now married and done.

And I don't know if Babita was the first to reveal about saif and Kareena being together. I think there was always rumors, and then KAREENA-Saif just stepped out together one day and Saif admitted it in national television. But I do know Sharmila was the first who revealed that they would be getting married very soon, coz before they both kept saying marriage is not on the cards

For any other actress, marrying into the Pataudi family would give prestige. Not Bebo. She is from the first family of BW. Plus the grand daughter of Raj Kapoor, the most illustrious film maker still known around the world. Her family name is far greater and recognizable than the Pataudi name in film.

What she gained in Saif is a partner IMO. A true partner. On paper, they look so different that compatibility, let alone staying together long seems impossible. But to see them together is something else. They seem to truly bring out the best in each other. I am not a fan of both, don't particularly care for either of them and critical of Bebo more than anything and her personality on and off screen is grating to me. But somehow they have become one of my favorite couples and I am the most surprised of all. 😆They just seem to work together and in a place like BW a relationship like theirs is so lovely to see.

But what I meant with advantage isn't more advantage than single KareenA. But more advantage than if she had married into another family coz the Pataudis are quite liberal and put no restrictions on her

JM: I don't mean in terms of audience. Ofc audience wise they're extremely famous in large parts of the world. But within the industry, politically & otherwise, they don't carry much weight. They don't have all that much wealth either. It's a bit of a farce. But to each to their own thinking.
