advantage over other married actresses?
First of all, let's keep this a clean discussion. Leave any dissing, aggressive or personal attacks out of the topic please. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the matter, just throwing some ideas out and thinking. Also, my statements are geared as generalized. For the majority. So when I discuss Desi married women, I'm talking the majority, the mango people. The families you may know in your neighborhood, or at work, etc. The ones with the traditional values, etc.

I was thinking how being married into a film family like the Pataudis might be advantageous for Kareena as an actress.

1) I think one of the biggest change Desi women face after marriage is (usually) they have to alter their behavior now that they're married, due to "izzat" of khandaan, or husband or something or the other. Since a lot of them marry into non-filmy households, I'm guessing the in laws aren't as liberal as their own families about letting them continue their careers they way they did, or perhaps wouldn't like seeing them being intimate with an actor.

Since Saif's mother was a commercial actress who continued to work after marriage, Kareena probably doenst have to deal with the stereotypical sasural that most desi woman deal with.
Not just his mom, but even Saif's sister is an actress. He's been raised in a family of actresses, so having a wife who's also an actress might be easier to adapt. That "no kissing" clause was completely self imposed by her. So when she realized that she's not gonna find a lot of scripts without intimacy, it was also in her control to change her mind.

2) CHILDREN! I think one of the biggest hurdle actresses face post marriage when it comes to career is family planning. When do they have kids? And once they decide to start a family, taking that gap to have children and then giving them the right amount of time, while also taking time to get back in shape does set them back in an Industry that has cut throat competition for actresses, which new faces being churned out every month and our society unfortunately favoring youth. (Which is sad! I think most of our experienced actress in their 30s and 40s are much more stunning and have more charm than the youngsters today). In marriage, these kinda decisions are complicated coz what if the husband wants to start a family? How long can you possibly delay.
Kareena is in a different situation since Saif already has kids, so he's not in a rush to have more. In fact, its also likely he's left the decision to have children on Kareena. Gives her a little bit more flexibility.

What do you think?

While actresses were looked down upon earlier- I am not sure thats true today. There haven't been that many mainstream actresses getting married in Bollywood (especially to non-filmi households). But if you look at TV there are a significant number of women who continue to work even after they get married.
On kids- I have a feeling they probably wont have kids. Given KKs on own far from ideal childhood and the fact that Saif already has grown kids- I am not sure its a priority for either of them. She will be 36 this year so the biological clock is definitely ticking. Barring one article a couple of months ago- she has never sounded very positive on the whole being a mommy idea.

It's very important for people like Kareena & her mother. Marrying into a well-connected, wealthy family is of PRIME IMPORTANCE to Babita because it gives her a high social status & a golden to card to show off & brag about. It ties in with her own feelings of insecurity & inadequacy because she was ostracised for the longest time, by the Kapoor family.

It didn't give her any advantage in her career but otherwise? Most definitely.

It's strange how Kareena was the most headstrong & fiercest in doing her own thing, being a force of nature & most insistent on not following her mothers orders (and rightfully so, seeing poor Karisma) but it is her who made a marriage that makes her mother
Preen with pride & joy. 😆

But I have a feeling regarding Kareena that she will have a kid sooner or later biologically or through surrogacy.

OT- I somehow agree. Bebo will have more liberty than say, Aishwarya. Although the latter is also married in a film family but Bacchans are known to be conservative.
Similarly, Rani Mukherjee is also married into a film family but her family isn't into acting. They will never be able to understand her position as an actor. Also I don't know but Adi comes off as a highly controlling person in real life.

Bebo's such a blabber mouth, she admitted in an interview that her mom had her eyes on Saif years ago, but for Karisma 😆
That woman got Saif as a son in law after all 😆
