Vicky Kaushal talks about being directed by his father

Vicky Kaushal is a grateful soul. The Zubaan actor can't thank his stars enough for giving him the opportunity to work with one of Bollywood's star action directors, Sham Kaushal or as he calls him, dad.

"It was very special for me and I thank God and Mozez (director) for making my dream come true," he says.

About the shot he adds, "When we started shooting, it was professional. The sequence we shot changes the graph of the film and is an important one. But when the shoot got over in the morning and I went and hugged him, that's when the emotions started kicking in. I will cherish that moment all my life," he says with an ear-to-ear smile. After all, it was a childhood dream.

"Ever since I became an actor, I dreamt of working with my dad. My dad has a certain style of calling a shot. I put my heart and soul in to impress my dad while doing stunts and it was great to be complimented by him. He used to scold me at times like a stunt director and not like my father."

Daddy dearest is equally elated as well. Talking about working with his son Sham Kaushal said, "Zubaan's was a new unit, so I was skeptical about directing a newcomer who also happens to be my son. But when the scene started, within no time I turned from a father to a director on set.

"There were no retakes and we finished two days worth of shooting in one night. I always analyse my work when I leave the set, so when I was going back to the hotel in morning I as a father thanked God for giving me this opportunity.

"I was teary-eyed when I called him. As a father I gained confidence in my son and his talent. It was a big day for me " he was so involved and totally focussed," said the proud father.
