Following controversies over his comment on intolerance, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan on Monday said he won't answer any question on political and religious matters.

"Unfortunately because of the reactions I get when I answer something political or religious, I don't think I will answer this question," Khan said on Monday when asked to comment on cancellation of Pakistani ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali's concert in Mumbai. Ali is now scheduled to perform in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Khan had earlier said there is "extreme intolerance" in India, creating a furore. He had later apologised. He had said the controversy also affected the collections of his latest film 'Dilwale'.

During a programme to launch the 'Shades of Bengal' book by Nerolac Paints, he also avoided answering the question related to reduction of his security cover by the Mumbai Police. Khan quipped saying he missed the constables as they used to bring food for him.

I won't be one bit surprised if protests happen against Fan and Raees too. Someone here hit it right on the head that the difference between Shahrukh and Amitabh is the former is a Khan. Not to mention Amitabh has always played it safe when it comes to political or social issues which is why he keeps being hired by the ruling party. As for what should Shahrukh do to curb these bigots. Well...they're freaking bigots! These folks obviously want an apology from him so they can claim they "won". I hope Shahrukh doesn't do that! I'm a fan not only because of the work he does but also for the person he's, for the stands he has taken on such issues.

As for journalists like Rajdeep and Barkha, well it's their job to ask questions. These people will probe, it depends on how you tackle those questions. The issue I have with them is they kept their mouths shut for the longest time when these protests started. The only reason Barkha tweeted about or replied to some tweets was because Shahrukh fans were immensely annoyed with her to put it politely. I didn't care for either of their attitudes when this stuff was going on. Especially Barkha but what can one do! I don't think Shahrukh would talk on such issues anymore but we as fans shouldn't be shocked if protests continue. I'm hoping though some good sense prevails and none of that crap happens to his movies again.
