Hrithik would hve done better, shah was ok, nothing great. Kaali kaali ankhein was the kind of dance srk did best.

SRK owned the song and no one could have done better.

Dil Se is one of the best movies of SRK and my favourite. I just absolutely love the album. There is not one song that I do not like.

In India this movie might have flopped but I remember this movie was a hit here in Pakistani. This was the time when Hindi movies were not released here and watched this movie on pirated tapes.

Sharukh = Energy, be it Chaiyya Chaiyya or Yeh Kali Kali Ankhe. Sukhwinder voice, again full of energy ( be it Chaiyya Chaiyya or Gajaanana in BM). ARR's songs tuned in high pitch are usually energetic songs (Vande Mataram, Jai Ho). Gulzar's pen can be so quirky. Farah was a breath of fresh air in choreography then. In Saroj Khan's time, choreography meant only dance. Background was hardly any player. Farah changed the game, be it Pehla Nasha, songs in Sarfarosh or Dil Se. Scenes made the songs running.

Each one has many unforgettable songs to their credit. What made Chaiyya Chaiyya special was, everyone at their top form. Dil Se songs are way better than Jai Ho, for which ARR got Oscar. Probably, credit also should be given to Mani Ratnam, who bundled this bunch and gave them a free go.

Wish the movie was a hit. Agree, it was intense. But it would have found its audience, if there were multiplexes. But unfortunately it was an era of single theatres and the movie was for niche audience. (Of course, Chaiyya Chaiyya was definitely not. That's why it retained its popularity. But there were hidden gems too, like E Ajnabee. To me, that was the best song in the album).

The Music Album of Dil se is such a GEM ❤️ yes no one else could have pulled off the song the way SRK did , he was so energetic and charming in the song 😆
I like that movie a lot dunno why it didn't work :/

NO...NO ONE could have done chaiyya chaiyya other than srk...leave alone better. SRK was simply PERFECT in the song and its one of my most fav songs till date..❤️

No one could have replicated the magic of Srk in Chaiyya Chaiyya except the man himself ofcourse..😳

P.S After going through this thread i am so tempted to watch KKHH and DDLJ again

About KKHH vigil idiot just said exactly what I thought about the movie when I first saw it. Did not like the story at all and the end was just stupid.

The song was tailor made for SRK I can't imagine anyone else in his place. What he lacks in dancing skills he definitely makes up for it with his energy, charm and charisma.

Chaiyya Chaiyya will never get old.

The lyrics " yaar misaale ous dhale, paaon ke tale firdos chale... Kabhi daal daal, kabhi paat paat...mein hawa pe dhoondu uske nishaan " gives me goosebumps...SRK and malika and sukhwinder nailed it..
