At the end of the day, all that matters is Good acting and I'm pretty sure everybody agrees on that unanimously.

Well, not all method actors are mechanical..The point is when you rehearse or prepare too much or measure every expression, there is a possibility of it coming across as rehearsed..At the end of the day, we have no idea how well any of these actors prepare for a role..All we get to see is the end result on screen..So it doesn't really matter whether you have prepared or not so long as you appear natural on screen..My point about Aamir's acting not being convincing has nothing to do with him being a method actor..The two are mutually exclusive 😆 The problem is not when actors prepare too much..The problem is when the effort shows on screen ( in a negative way)..That was my point anyway..And acting is highly subjective..You relate to a few actors a lot more than the others and thats how you judge their performance anyway..For example, i think Farhan is also a method actor but he can be incredibly natural and charming on screen if he wants to..So yeah, method acting is defo not the problem here..I wasn't really making that point anyway 😆

Characters impress me . If I like the character than the actor did his/her job well .
Now we have villains that people love to hate . They also so their job well

But then there are characters I hate to hate . Mr. Bachchan was so whiny in Piku I personally have to say he wasn't impressive . He was rather annoying . Or that film Rhanjana. The main guy he so was annoying and weird that I'm glad he has filtered out of BW kinda 😆

So I just judge the acting on how the characters seem to me

As for method acting . Well whether you do a day of research or 100 it won't matter to me . Volume isn't impressive for sheer sake of volume .

No friend, you misunderstood me. It wasn't directed at you, per se. I have often seen people carry that notion of method acting being mechanical. So I was speaking in general. Hope I made myself clear. Don't hate on me, friend. 😊

If I like something onscreen then I don't look for the reason behind it ...It can be method acting or natural acting..Its when the actors give interviews then I come to know oh he/she is a method actor..Pardon my ignorance or lack of understanding for that 😛
I absolutely love Aamir's acting. Barring a D3 or Mela he seldom failed to impress me specially after Laagan and DCH..Also I loved Ranveer in BM or Lootera or BBB..I thought he was absolute natural in BBB..If method acting helped him to make a character natural on screen then bless him..By definition Jhilmil or Michelle McNally should be example of method acting as well. I believe they were THE most toughest role done by any female actor in the history of hindi cinema..
But then I loved SRK in CDI and Swadesh. Is Ranbir a natural actor? Then I loved Barfi and Rocket Singh and Rockstar..So difficult to say which school of acting I prefer..
The problem with natural acting for me comes when the actors like to play themselves over and over again and that time it gets monotonous and feel like you are seeing the star not the actor. That happens with SRK for specially post Ra One or Don era for me..But for Aamir its like seeing the character alive..But I guess that's more to do with the actor not the school of acting

If that were the case, Aamir wouldn't be considered a brilliant actor today 😆 I don think anyone is against method acting per se..Of course its awesome when ppl take their profession seriously..The whole point is whether an actor comes across as natural/ relatable on screen..Doesn't matter whether you rehearsed for a year or just came to the sets and gave the shot..All that is irrelevant so long as you appear natural on screen..Actors go on and on about preparing for a role(Varun i think mentioned that he stopped talking to people while prepping for Badlapur or something along those lines😆)..If method acting was considered bad, they obviously wont bother doing that 😆

KJO once asked Ranveer that you are a method actor right as if it was something uncool on KWK episode.

He did? Don worry..If Ranveer delivers 2 more hits, he'l automatically start praising him..Karan shouldn't be taken seriously anyway 😆

I don't know where people r getting this that method actors are looked down upon in bw.. They are NOT.. In fact they have always been considered superior ..right from Dilip Kumar to aamir Khan.. Which maybe unfair to those who don't believe in that approach.. Because ultimately what should should matter is the result on screen not what school of acting the actor believes in..
I think when people say method vs natural etc.. I m guessing.. But many I feel mean by natural acting. Those actors whether they follow a method approach or not don't let the effort show on screen. Which SHOULD be the case.. As against those where the effort is visible which makes it look like ACTING.

Personally I don't care.. I have loved many actors who are method actors.. But I also love actors who have been vocal that they don't believe in method acting
