Pretty much. For everyone who grew up watching these iconic movies in the 90s, it wasn't about the looks, clothes, dances, or physical intimacy...that was never the connect, clincher or causal factor. SRK-Kajol personified a feeling: the closest thing to pure, almost fantastical and platonic love. That's why people love them, on-screen or off-screen...they made people feel and believe that something so elusive and profound may perhaps just exist, which is a powerful thing. Few people possess such a gift of capturing emotions between themselves and the fact that they've maintained it is a testimony to their legacy 👍🏼

You know, even in the other CNN interview...I really loved this bit:

CNN: What is the best thing about working together?

SRK: "There's no fake courtesy. We don't have to start off as introductory actors. We haven't worked (together) for five years. When we met on the set six months ago. When we came to do the first scene, which was me meeting her for the first time in the film in Bulgaria, it seemed just as though it was five years ago. There's a huge openness in being able to respect each other so much that you can be critical and appreciative at the same time, she can turn round and say "I don't like that, why do you look like that in that scene...?"

Kajol: "There's no ego.."

SRK: "And I know that if she doesn't like it, along with the director, she's my first line of knowing whether I've got it right. That doesn't happen with all actors. I know that if she doesn't like it I'm not gonna question it I'll just do it again. Similarly I can tell her "that was very nice but can you do this? Oh yeah OK I got it" and it's very instinctive and natural now and both of us -- she would like me to be the best thing in the frame and I would like her to be the same."

Kajol: "We take care of each other, in every which way."

Kolkata loves SRK-Kajol, clearly Telegraph loves them too. They are indeed the most iconic BW pair who are still doing movies together! They are best buddies, colleagues for 22 yrs and their mutual respect and understanding is unparalleled!

Agree totally what Kajol's uncle said: You're the first girl who's been working for 25 years and you're still here and you're still doing the big films. Your father would have been so happy and proud. You are still lighting up the screen'.

She does light up the screen in Dilwale! ⭐️ She looked gorgeous and gave a brilliant performance!

The uncle she mentions must be Deb Mukherjee, Ayan's dad.

Wonder who the sweet friend SRK referred to, the one who said the whole film felt like a big Hug!

Its true, their fans have "adopted" them! 😆 We feel like they are part of our family for last 22 yrs! 😳

That 'fake courtesy thing' is so bang on 😆 Thanks to my SRK-Kajol vid marathon, i watched their KWK epi with Rani yesterday and that epi kinda sums up how different SRK-Kajol are from every other pairing of his..Rani was being so nice, sweet, warm and almost in awe of SRK while Kajol was brash, loud and OTT 😆 And i also saw this earlier epi where she appeared for a short while with SRK and Amitabh and the one thing you could tell was that SRK was so pissed off she chose Fanaa over KANK 🤣 He couldn't even hide his disappointment 😆

Oh man don't remind me of the Rani episode...that was awkward... And SRK made fun of Rani...she's going towards 'sainthood' and for Kajol...'she's never diplomatically correct...she's never correct only' 😆 I dunno if Rani is genuinely in that much awe of SRK or she puts on the act as he's a big star, but Kajol was clearly embarrassed and then exasperated by the fawning 😆

To be fair, SRK is apparently instrumental in giving Rani a big break & he was a big star so she's thankful whereas with Kajol, they walked side by side, together, AS EQUALS, on the path to success and stardom. That will obviously make a big difference. Oh SRK was damn pissed off that she rejected KANK...and KJo and him had tried everything to get her to agree back then. 😆 To make things worse, she picked a film opposite AAMIR 🤣

IKR..Rani was like 'i'l save both of you and stay back myself' and Kajol is like 'stop it Rani stop it' 🤣 Its not just SRK..Even Karan made fun of Rani saying she is putting up the act 😆 There was just so much coldness between Rani and Kajol..When Karan asked Rani whether Kajol was a tough act to follow cos she is part of the same family, Rani was like 'i was more influenced by SRK and Aamir'. W*F 😕😆 SRK was a riot in that epi..His answers for ' what if Aryan was a fan of Mallika Sherawat' and 'what if Rakhi forcefully kisses you' were hilarious..And in another epi, he was asked what would you say to a fan of Aamir and he is like 'i'l tell them they need to be a fan of an actor they can look up to' 🤣 He can be so so mean at times 😆

I know..He sounded bitter every time he spoke about Fanaa..I found that weirdly endearing 😆 I remember he was hosting when Kajol won 'best actress' for Fanaa..Even then, he din look that happy 😆

Re that vid- Aww that bit is super cute..I remember really liking the proposal scene in MNIK 😆
