Im not a fan of him, but i do think he has performed nicely in most of his films (I liked him in all his movies up until ABCD2 and Dilwale) but I was surprised at how HORRIBLE he was in Dilwale! Seriously this guy was just awful! He completely overacted the light moments...and in he couldn't deliver in the emotional parts.

There were some scenes he did well...but he fell flat most of the time!

For me he took 10 steps back with Dilwale! One of his worst acting performances TBH! Im not even hating, I really mean this in the most unbiased-neutural viewer way!

For me yes , he has done same light hearted happy go lucky kinda roles in all his films barring Badlapur & there also he was just about okay . Nawaz , Vinay Pathak , Radhika Apte were much better.

Nope. He is the perfect Bollywood material. He is charming on screen, has a nice comic timing, dances like a dream and has a very strong screen presence. This forum is not really fond of commercial flicks but I'm kinda sure that within a few years, he'll be an amazing commercial hero. And he was actually good in Badlapur and held his ground infront of actors who are famous for their 'acting talent'. However, his dialogue delivery is weak and he needs to improve on it. Other than that, I think he is pretty talented.

Eta: Also what we ignore is an actor's capability to enthrall the audience and engage them in a movie or scene with their presence, which Varun has.

I used to really dislike Varun at one point..Even Badlapur couldn't change my mind 😆 But as weird as this sounds, i watched ABCD2 and understood what ppl saw in him 😆 He may not be the best actor yet ( needs to work on his dialogue delivery, make sure he doesn't go OTT etc.) but he is mad fun on screen..And he dances like a dream..Sun Saathiya alone was enough to seal the deal for him..He was such a star there man..So damn charming 😆

There are so many actors, who are not son of any famous film personality but can act 1000times better thn varun

Extremely OTT, does the same shit in every film(except one Badlapur where he was terrible), short and not good looking at all. There are tons of better options around.

No wonder then that no big directors have taken a fancy to him when even an Arjun Kapoor has been signed by Balki and Shimit Amin.

Imran Khan 2.0 who had some success in the early going as well with JTYJN, IHLS, Delhi Belly but couldn't get a director worth their salt to invest in him.

Varun has amzing screen presence. He is charmer onscreen. as kaapi said he is perfect bollywood material
