Some smart person on the internet has listed 39 mistakes in the trailer of Rohit Shetty's eagerly awaited Dilwale.
The song 'Tukur Tukur', apparently designed as an end-title special for Shah Rukh, Kajol, Varun, Kriti, Rohit Shetty and automobile fans, is another mistake. Big mistake. The song's puerile peppiness is so desperately youth-oriented, you cringe for bade bhai Shah Rukh as he tries to look oh-so-cool with chote bhai Varun Dhawan.
The "boys" are dressed in blue coats. The "girls" are dressed in pink sarees. Together they go Tukur tukur tukur tukur.' There is not much else of a hookline in this utterly vapid composition by Pritam, unless we are meant to search for a deeper meaning.
The choreography by Ganesh Hegde favours staccato hip-hop movements. That's a fine space to be in for a 22-year old, but for Shah Rukh Khan? We're not too sure.
The frames are filled with whites, blues and pinks. And then there are cars, swanky cars, lined up like prized specimens in a posh showroom. Someone should do in depth research on why Rohit Shetty's characters look happier dancing with cars than human beings.
Incidentally the number ends with a joke about lip-locking between Shah Rukh and Varun Dhawan. There is a joke' about lip-to-lip kissing between the brothers in the trailer also.
Whatever the subtexts, some experiences are better left unfelt. This song is definitely one of them. The song will give us a good reason to run out of the theatre when the end titles start.
SOMEONE EXPLAIN IT TO HIM HE EVEN SAID GERUA WAS PATHETIC
