I thought, the song was really good and Ash looked beautiful like always

I am not too sure about the casting, I do not think Ash and Abhishek make a good pair. I would give their pairing - 5/10

3.) Do you think the new version will be as good as Rekha's Umrao Jaan...why or why not

Honestly, I have never seen the old Umrao Jaan but I have heard it is really good and many have said the remake may not be as good

4.) What do you have to say about the music....for the last 2 weeks it took over the Number 1 spot on AVS moving Don to the Number 2 position

I only like one song on the album, I prefer the music of DON.

5.) No sets were used for the shooting of the film....will that be benefiting to the film...why or why not

I guess so, I really don't know.

I think Rani, Preity, Kajol could have all done a good job with this role

I think she shares great chemistry with Salman Khan however we all now that is not possible anymore. I also think she looks good with Ajay Devgan

I don't think the film will fare well at the box office. I think in the beginning the film will get off to a good start because there will be a lot of curiousity surronding the film. Many want to know if it will be as good as the original or if Ash will be able to do justice to the role Rekha portrayed.

10.) Any comments on the films

I am not really sure if I will watch this film at all. It doesn't appeal to me like the other films do. Aishwarya Rai is not one of my favorite actresses, however I do want to see her in Dhoom 2. So I should have added that I think she looks good with Hrithik too!

I was excited and I liked the song Salaam it was very intresting and as I have not see the past Umrao Jaan I though this may be intresting also I knew Abhishek was in it so I was eager to watch the promo to see what his costume was and if any change in his hairstyle or anything. I thought Aishwarya Rai looked really pretty and I thought the film would be probably intresting to see.

2.) What do you think about the casting....also rate the pair out of 10

I think the casting is good and intresting as the last time they worked together as a pair it was in Kuch na kaho I think and there chemistry was ok as they are both tall and very famous so i thought they made a good couple. The acting was good and I think that maybe they would be better in this film and their chemistry would maybe work better. I would gie their pair for chemistry 6/10

3.) Do you think the new version will be as good as Rekha's Umrao Jaan...why or why not

I have not see the old remake but I have heard that it is meant to be really good and heart touching and emotional or something so i am not sure about remakes as i think tghey should not make remakes i mean am 15 a teenager and i would rather watch the old film using don with Amitju rather than new one and i have seen the remake and i think it is better. The remake is made from another persons perception of the old film so it will not be as good as there will always be things they did really like which they will make bigger in film or disliked which they will change so it will not be as good. For Umrao jaan not sure as maybe aishwarya can pull it off but she may do better acting so yeah i think the remake may be better also i don't really like rekha so😆

I like the music especially salaam one as an intresting song and in my head now, i really like the music but only 1-2 songs and I think the Don music is better with Khaike paan, main hoon don, and mriya re so i think the don music is much better with more varieties really i guess

Yes because not as much money will be spent and it does not seem fake like it does in some films😆. I am not exactly sure but i thoink they will benefit because not as much money spent😕, not sure

Erm in Salaam song Aishawya face could look less wide and more thin as her face looks really wide in the song or is it just me who thinks that?😆, not sure maybe the casting meaning i think aishwarya is good no i think it is ok😛

I think a lot of actresses like Kajol, Preity Zinta maybe or maybe even Rani although not sure. I think Priyanka would have been good

I think Salman would have looked perfet with her but as not possible prob Hrithik+SRk may have looked good especially hrithik with his great chemistry

I think that a lot of comparisons will be made between Rekhaji and Aishwarya which may prove a downfall like Don but maybe the film people will like although money wise it will make a lot of money to be called a hit probably😛

Not sure if i wanna watch in cinema it is a bit boring looking....it is i think may get dvd so i can fast forward the boring bits maybe😆

Castings...hmm..I guess instead of ash sush wud suit the role more..but opposite her erm..there the prob cums..Im fine wiv the castings since rite now i have no such exitement for the film..😳ash-abhi...whenever i think bout them it remindz me of rani-abhi lol..soo i guess 7/10😛

I havent seen the old one..buh recently in some news chn. they showed the flaws,mistakes,unnatural stuff bout the new one..the new uj has suffered from loadza critics..and as far as ive seen sum of the scened of the old uj i find that better😛buh according to the modernization of 2006 i guess this j is gud in its own ways but not the bbest😳

I was completely bowled over to see ASH's Salaamm salammm promo..She luked stunning in it..From then on I was like counting evry secong for the release of UJ..😳

Umrao jaan

1.) What was your first thought or opinion when you saw the teaser or the very first promo of this film

To be frank, I thought wow Aish looks stunning!👏 The beautiful dresses and jewelry and Ash-Abhisekh first movie- considering the fact that they are a real-life couple now- But I was also thinking, my god why a remake of umrao jaan, will it be a hit or not?? And what's with the music score????

2.) What do you think about the casting....also rate the pair out of 10

Well, the casting looks impressive. Names like Aishwarya, Abhishek Bachchan. Shabana Azmi Suniel Shetty, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Himani Shivpuri, Divya Dutta, Ayesha Julka, Parikshit Sahni, Maya Alagh, Vishwajeet Pradhan and Javed Khan.

I saw the promo's and rating Ash & abhiskh as pair, I'll give them 7 out of 10. I don't think they look that good together, I didn't see chemistry between them. But that maybe only my point of view.

3.) Do you think the new version will be as good as Rekha's Umrao Jaan...why or why not

Well I really hope it does well, but I don't think so, because I believe that the music score of rekha's umrao jaan was better! Those songs were really a hit!

This I something I really don't understand. I heard all the songs, no offense to anu malik's music. I heard the songs, good music score, but all the songs sound the same! The only song which in my opinion stands out is " Dekha hume kuch aise". Really melodious and beautiful lyrics and sung very well by Sonu & Alka.

Sincerely , I think for this kinda movie I don't think special sets are needed for the shooting of the film. It obviously the cinematographer's work to create beautiful sets and to bring the classic look for this kinda movie! So I think that will be benefiting to the film

The music for sure, in kotha's I expect at least one song that is not really a soul- slow song! i loved "in aankhon ki masti"in first umrao jaan. And maybe the storyline also. It's a very sad story!

Right now, I can't think of anybody else- I think Ash was/is the best choice, if the remake had been planned 5-6 years ago, I would've loved to see Madhuri Diit in this role, because I belive you need to be a great dancer for portraying this kinda role!

Hhhmmmmmh, let well for the role of a Nawab, I think Abhisekh is a good choice, but I think maybe Salman khan or Arjun Ramphal would have looked better with Aish!!

Besides the fact that the advance booking are going pretty well...and there are already some house fulls , I don't think the movie will fair at the Box Office...because of the music and the storyline.

I think that, the film will only appeal in some multiplexes, the producers/investors will have to face losses, mostly because in this modern time, only some people will have the patience to watch such an "classic" story. I think I'll watch it only for Ash & Abhisekh, to see how good they look on screen and also for that favorite song of mine: " Dekha hume kuch aise".

I really hope for Aish & Abhisekh that the movie does well, I'm sure ash's acting will be yet an awardwinning performance again after Devdas, whether the movie does well or not!

The song Salaam caught me from the promos, it sounded really nice and I also wanted to see Abhishek and the costumes and jewellery and locations that were used for the movie, I have seen the old one with Rekha but this one looks interesting, Aishwarya looks gorgeous but I really wanted to see the film for Abhishek and see how different it is from the old Umrao Jaan.

The casting is pretty good, like Shabana Azmi, Abhishek, I would have preferred Madhuri for Aishwarya's role but Aish does look gorgeous so lets see how it works. The chemistry between Abhi and Aish may be better in this film than their previous films together, the casting is alright, so I would give it a 5/10.

I don't think the new version will be as good as Rekha's Umrao Jaan, I have seen the old version and Rekha has done a superb job, the emotions, the grace was too good and I don't think Aish can do that role, but I'm sure they'll try to make the remake more interesting or change something that makes the viewers want to see the film, still I don't have high expectations for the film, I would watch it but I think the old version will be better.

The music is nice like Salaam and Bekha Diya Hamein but I like Don music more, catchy tunes like Main Hoon Don, Aaj Ki Raat, Khaike Paan Banaras Wala, Yeh Mera Dil. The music of Umrao Jaan is sweet and its good that they have based the tunes on the classical period.

Looking at the promos, the locations look nice so I don't think it matters whether they used sets or not, as long as it looks nice and adds to the film then I think its ok.

I would change the casting a bit, I don't really like the casting that much except for Abhi and Shabana.
