Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has recorded the second highest single day collections in the history of the Hindi film industry. The collections are only below the more commercial Happy New Year' which released on the same holiday, on fewer screens, last year.

Some points:

Out of the Top 25 highest single day collections, Salman Khan dominates with his films finding a mention 10 times.
SRK and Aamir Khan have managed to make it to the Top 25, 6 times each. Followed by Hrithik Roshan - 3 times and Ajay Devgn - once.
Salman has made it to the list on four non-holidays, which is the highest for any actor.
Hrithik Roshan is the only actor to find a mention in the Top 25 during a clash. Haider released on the same day.
The oldest film in the list is the first day collections of Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
