Post Eid celebrations, 'Jaan-e-Mann'has been playing to packed cinemas globally, with Dubai showing a 100 per cent jump at the ticket window and Jodhpur a 130 per cent jump.
Traditionally, in the UK, the seventh day of a film's release is likely to be the lowest grossing day.
However, in the case of 'Jaan-E-Mann' the film grossed approximately 35,000, in just two days. This phenomenon is rarely seen in the UK, and highlights an anomalous, yet positive trend.
Pranab Kapadia, the Business Head of Adlabs, the UK distributor of 'Jaan-E-Mann,' attributes the success of the film to its 'feel-good-factor' storyline.
'Jaan-E-Mann's figures have picked up dramatically in Britain. Although the film grossed a mere 18,000 on its opening day, the film has experienced a remarkable upswing, grossing 40,000 on
Monday and 60,000 on Tuesday. The audience and critics reception has been overwhelming."
'Jaan-E-Mann' is a musical, which has broken the mould of a conventional Hindi film with its innovative, out of the box approach to storytelling.
On the surface, it appears to be a conventional love triangle between Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta. We all know how it goes: two boys meet a girl and fall in love with her, and in the end, one of them goes home empty-handed.
However, the tongue-in-cheek humour, the situations, and the inventive way of incorporating little Bollywood quirks we take for granted, has made 'Jaan-E-Mann' an extremely enjoyable film and has won it rave reviews internationally.
Everyone who has seen the film is unanimous that 'Jaan-E-Mann' is a visual treat, with the story told in an unusual manner. Each facet of the film, be it the backing of an organisation like Adlabs, or the fact that enterprising producer Sajid Nadiadwala is at the helm, or that 'Jaan-E-Mann' stars the solid trio of Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta or that the film is directed by editor turned director Shirish Kunder, makes it a front runner.
