It's actually good if he does only content-based films. Those type of films are working better than ever these days and this way he keeps his respect as an actor. No shame in doing only performance orientated roles.

Shahid knows his capabilities and his strengths, but he is so desperate to be known as a commercial actor, he keeps picking projects that have a strong chance of tanking at the BO. There is no way a guy who pucks Haider can't know shaandaar won't work- because of the high costs abd being a complete turn off to India's single screen crowd, that ultimately plays a key role in making a movie hit. Just a glance at his work- after every JWM or kaminwy, a string of shitty movies picked to show off his commercial prowess. Infact his best commercial films in recent times RRajkumar was very desi and had sonakshi & PDeva to pull through.
If shahid wants a sustained career, despite what his peers are doing- he has to pick roles that play to his strengths- ACTING. Give up the commercial star dream. I fact even in india the trend has changed, barring a few, it's the smaller films that are clicking at the BO. Simply because they can be true to the style, story they want to say without the burdens of cost and f**king it up to pull in audience.
Had shaandaar been done in a smaller scale without Kjo and his sensibilities backing it up, I think it could have been a decent venture.

Nobody apart from the Khans, Kumar, and HR has clear star power Jake.

Even Ranbir who was touted as Gods gift to the industry is going through a really rough patch. saif today is regarded as a nobody when just until 2012-2013 he was churning out hits.

Shandaar got a strong opening, meaning with the right ingredients any actor can pull in crowds, but it's unfortunate the film sucked so it crashed afterwards.

Rangoon is a guaranteed success simply based on the staff cast of saif-shahid-Kangana. Keep your chin up. Shahid has all the ingredients to be a solo commercial actor

If flops had to impact Shahid he would have been impacted long back.

Don't give up. Performance oriented films can do extremely well with the right script. The audience appreciates a good story.

I honestly think Shahid should ask his wife and his father to read his scripts and pick the best ones for him. He is terrible at picking the right scripts. He tries to be picky, but his script sense is terrible.

That should be a big no. Not all Pankaj's movies are good. I get a feeling his family's quite unlucky for him. 😆
