Govinda made a comeback to the big screen in 2014 after a hiatus of 5 years with two back-to-back releases Kill Dil and Happy Ending. However, the films did not fare well at the box office. The actor, who is now set to act in a Marathi film, recently in an interaction with a leading tabloid, shared about his career plans and his son, Yashvardhan's Bollywood debut.
On being asked, what next will the audience see form the actor, he shared, "My home production film, Abhinay Chakra will release in Jan 2016. When I decided to make this film, I didn't get support from financiers. Sometimes, when we actors are making a comeback, we don't get support, but that's fine. I have completed the film and I hope it becomes a hit when it releases. I can say I did it on my own strength. Also, I have signed three films, but I will talk about them when they are ready. That's the way I work." He also shed light on his son's plans to enter the Bollywood. "Yes, Yashvardhan is ready to step into Bollywood. He has just done his acting and filmmaking course from London. He is trying to get into films. I did whatever I got, for me it was kaam mila, ishwar mila, maine screenplay kidhar jaa raha hai, story kya hai, kabhi dekha nahi' but my son won't do that. He understands cinema," he said. When questioned if he is looking at any of his industry colleagues to launch his son, as Salman Khan recently launched Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, Govinad answered, "I don't look at my friends for that. Then they feel they have made your life or that you are dependent on them. I don't even want people to ask me these questions. Whatever we do, we want to do it on our own."
We wish our good wishes to both Yashvardhan and his father, the super-talented Govinda, and hope to see him on the screen, with great projects, soon!
