Ppl will pay more for bigger movies and make them houseful. Smaller mvoies with small stars r struggling to bring crowd in theatres even at reasonable prices. $2 shopsmay have 500 customers day and jewellery shop may have 40 customers all day. But the profit margin of the jewel shop may be much higher.

Many regional and Hindi films gets e-tax free and thus cheaper prices. So footfalls can increase. So, footfalls is NOT the only indictaor. There r so so many.

Adjusted for inflation, Gadar would be a far bigger hit than BOI figures make it out to be. And it's post 96, right so that's included. I mean even though it's no.1, it would have a higher figure still.

BOI, TOI etc all are private entities and dance to the tunes of their masters. These trade analysts and distributors are the real players and there's no way the common public can ever get to know the real figures.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. Why else does BOI keep changing their figures?

even adjusted nett gross is a flawed method...like Sallu's MPK might b second or third on the basis of footfalls during the period of late 80's and early 2000's...Sallu was not a superstar back then, it was his debut as a lead hero and how will they calculate adjusted nett gross...I mean will it be on the ticket price of a debutant or the superstar...like today Khans,HR films ticket prices are more than VD or any young actors...
