Did Piku help Deepika's career?

Piku, one of the biggest hits of the year, and one where Deepika has walked away with a lot of the praise, has however not really helped her career.

She did not land any plum projects or roles post that film. Sure, she has 2 big films coming up but those were signed before Piku.

So why have things come to such a pass that she has to lobby Rangoon? (Though I def don't believe she asked to do d film for free)

This kind of surprises me a lot😕
