No dancing blues
Kareena Kapoor met the original Don's moll, Helen, at Malaika Arora Khan's birthday bash. We asked Bebo if Helen had seen her song or commented on it, and she said, "No. I haven't heard anything, but I definitely do know one thing: competing with Helen aunty and getting into her shoes would never be possible. I can never match up to her, and I didn't try. I did the song my way and enjoyed dancing with Shah Rukh after a long time." Atta girl.
It's become a regular thing now: Every time the Big B watches a film, he only has wonderful things to say about it. Not that we think the films in question are bad, it's just that it's next to impossible to hear the very 'propah' Bachchan say anything less than complimentary. And so Amitabh loved Jaan-E-Mann so much that he requested Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder for a special screening for his family and friends. Says a source present at the screening, held at the PVR last Monday, "Aishwarya and Abhishek, who were also present at the trial, loved the film and told Farah that." It's all in the family, eh? Bitter-sweet symphony
So we really had a good laugh when we read about SRK's comments on film critics in a national daily yesterday. SRK said, "There was a time when we respected critics. But nowadays, there are more of them with less knowledge; both their criticism and appreciation should not be taken seriously." So what kind of criticism would you like, Sir? Bitter chocolate with a cherry on top? Sorry, we don't do that flavour. Over the edge!
The usually cool Kumar roared back, "What are you talking about? Jaan-E-Mann is a super hit. Some people are spreading these rumours about how my film is not doing well, but I refuse to believe them." Alrighty then! Incidentally, producer Sajid Nadiadwala is cutting his own promos for Jaan-E-Mann these days. Come Thursday and you can get a dekho at Sajid ka kamaal for yourself. Rangeela re
But after another dekho at the promos, we've realised that even Hrithik has been bitten by the colour code. In an attempt to give his edgy character some… well… depth (he he!), he's gotten his stubble painted a golden shade too (more he he!). Boy, you're taking this metrosexual thing way too far. It's time to stop right about now!

Joy was there with wife Neelam and sons Toy and Boy. Also in attendance were Priya Dutt with son Siddharth, Om and Nandita Puri, Kanwaljeet, Anurradha Patel with son Siddharth, Neelam Ronit Roy with daughter Aador, Kishen Kumar and Tanya and their children and Ritu Shivpuri with her little tot. Joy Mukherjee's daughter Simran and husband Kuldeep Halvasia, proud parents of the birthday boy, made sure everyone had a blast with puppet shows, magic shows, hair painting, tattoo drawings, juggling events, prizes and lots of delicious food! Sadly, we didn't see the rest of the Mukherjee khandaan, including Kajol and Rani, at the do.
There was a time when Adnan Sami and his reps would give us the 'I'm on a weight loss programme' line every time he was missing in action. But it's been a really long time since we saw or heard from the singer. That must be one phenomenal weight loss programme, huh? Seems that losing all that baggage has finally made the big guy disappear altogether! Chutta mil gaya!
We thought she was hurling coins at them to display her unhappiness over their performance at first. But Madame Khan has decided that showering 101 rupees on contestants has become a common sight on other reality shows (read Sanjay Leela Bhansali dishing out 500 rupee notes on his favourite contestants). So henceforth, she's going to shower them with coins to show her appreciation. Erm, the contestants aren't going to be too happy about that Saroj! Oh, no, nuh-nuh no, no no!
