Govinda was and is an amazing actor and dancer.he appealed more to the masses.he was the next rage after Mithun.why should it be an insult to be compared to him??whoever does that needs to achieve half of what he has and then pass judgement..

I totally enjoyed watching Govinda movies of the 90s. He has great coming timing. Varun is no where near him. I loved him in Swarg and many other movies post 1986. The last movie of Govinda I liked was Jis desh main Ganga rehta hai although it was a flop. May be Varuns dad loved directing Govinda in his movies that is why the comparison.

I get your point, for some reason when people compare Varun to Govinda it doesn't always seems to be coming as praise. But it should be a compliment, Govinda is an amazing actor, performer and people have enjoyed his films so much in the past.

If Varun was doing one slapstick comedy after another then it's a valid point but he's not. The only Govinda-isms I've seen from Varun came in MTH not in any other film. People take Varun's films at face value only and say he's doing the same thing but comedy, love story, dance are not the same genres, nor has he played the same character in those films, being youthful and positive doesn't automatically make it the same character.

It's not the 90's anymore that people would accept it from an actor if they did the same thing in each film

He did films like Happy ending and Kill dil . It's another thing that those films sucked .

Isn't he ranbirs dad in Jagga Jasoos ???

Sunny deol now he is on guy who thinks he can still be a leading man 😲😲😆

So he's still living in delusions are grandeur

did you watch Happy Ending?

he doesn't play the role of a young guy or anything. In fact, he plays the role of an older guy who is desperately trying hard to remain young, it was pretty funny lol

Don't think there's anything wrong in that. It's better than other leading men who try to play the role of 20-somehing boys when in reality they're 2 decades older

I didn't see it but I wasn't not dragging Govinda down but complimenting him on accepting 2nd leads . Its sad tho neither KD or HE worked . Maybe he should have taken Jackie Shroffs role in Brothers .
That movie would have been much much better

oh oops I misread your post then, my bad

Yeah I wish Happy Ending would've worked tbh.. it wasn't a bad film at all. Govinda in fact was one of the best things about it

Didn't see KD... I'm not sure if that movie is decent or not 😆

OHH you were saying Sunny was delusional, gah I thought you were talkinga bout Govinda 😆 sorry, slow morning lol

In one of his interviews within the last year Govinda said he refused a father role because he was playing the lead in another movie. Don't remember the details, and don't even know what happened to the lead role he was doing. But he definitely said he refused a father role so it won't counter affect his lead.

People read and interpret things differently. To me he does sound like he's having a hard time accepting the changing times. And he is rather passive aggressive about where he stands with David Dhawan.

Why does he not take on roles where he plays the leads dad/older brother? Similar to what Kader Khan was for him in the 90's. That's surely...
