In the 2000s, it was all Rani and Preity. Then the dynamic switched to PC and Bebo, with Deepika and the rest starting their debuts. Aish hung around due to the Cannes catwalk and then getting married to the Bachchans.

I don't know much about the 90s, but Madhuri and Sridevi were active in those days...

I can't comment about her BO success ratio since I haven't followed her that closely but she is a pathetic actress!

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, D2 and JA are probably the only three Aish movies that I've seen. She over-acted like HELL in HDDCS...her fake giggles and expressionless face really ruined the movie for me. In D2. her Sunheri avatar and her anorexic body sucked big time. Gosh I couldn't stand her in that movie.

JA is probably the only movie where she acted decently.

P.S. This is MY opinion. If you've got a problem with me criticizing Goddess Aish then I do not care.

Ash was in top 3 in 1999-2003 due to Taal, HDDCS, Mohabbatein, Josh, Devdas.

Her popularity has never translated at the box office. For all the hype, she has never been a draw at the BO.

She has not always been experimental. Albela, Hum kisise kum nahin, Aur pyaar ho gaya, Action Replay, Kuch na kaho, Kyun ho gaya na pyaar, Aa ab laut chalen, Dhai akshar prem ke etc are all routine commercial films. Nothing risky.

People here keep peddling popularity or beauty lists but that doesn't count for top 3 stars.

The term star itself was coined for BO draws. No way can box office be ignored while judging a star.

Aishwarya is just India's most successful supermodel/beauty pageant winner. Nothing much as an actress or star.

u want to count it frm her barely there acting skills...?? she is terrible...
her BO record ?? not impressive..
her beauty?? she is pretty but thats it ???
u go out nd ask anyone abroad to list 3 indian stars...u will get her name before salman khan... (this aint coz u r his fan..m speaking my opinion)
ask anyone in ur country abt her...more positive reviews that negative...
bacchan tag hardly had any affect on her
