if she was not, then you wouldn't have been making posts about her. she is extremely popular with or without the movies.

But Aish didn't had huge success like Kareena had. More than 90% movies of Aish are failure at BO u just can't put her in Top 3 category just coz she appears at Cannes. I'll put Madhuri and Kajol up then Aish.

While I think Aish is successful even apart from her Bachchan-bahu tag, I do feel that being a part of a powerful family definitely helped her Bollywood career. I cannot predict if she would've faded away had she not married Abhishek. She would still have L'Oreal and Cannes and maybe SLB but difficult to say beyond that. She was in a really bad place after her break-up with Salman because she managed to have a fallout with SRK and Aamir as well. Being on the wrong side of all these three wasn't a good idea especially back then. Her patch-up with the latter two was also out of nowhere. One fine day everyone was on good terms again.

Earned triple the budget.
The film was marketed on her name and it was just her international debut. I don't think any Indian star managed to pull that off.

And Provoked ain't a disaster. It was an international film made with a shoestring budget, and was primarily released only in UK and small no. of theatres in India. It did manage to breakthrough making a $3 million, so it was a moderate success. Taal was more or less her film only, it revolved around her. Even HDDCS was more about Nandini, but ofcourse it had sallu who was an established star.


The BOI you are talking about has her ranked at the Number One in the decade 2000-09 and All-time at No. 2 despite the 5 yr break.


About performances, she has received acclaim and awards for HDDCS, Devdas, Taal, Raincoat, Guzaarish, Guru, Chokher Bali, Jodhaa Akbar, provoked among others. And will be known for it.


If she wanted just hits, she wouldn't have turned down HNY. She is clearly not interested in doing an inconsequential 2. min role and take the credit.
Currently, she was 4 confirmed films already with Jazbaa, ADHM, Sarabjit and Sujoy's film.. despite the 5 yr break.
