And if the story really is about reincarnation then it's a much riskier storyline than family drama and MMA.

Oh I see. Well in that case, he should ditch the whole thing. Especially considering the cost of this project.

thanks for the clarification :)

Ayan is still better than the rest, but he seems more interested in chilling with Ranbir rather than making any film. I read his film won't start till the end of 2016. Ridiculous..I'm surprised KJo's not asking him to see if he can make anything else in the meantime.

I dunno what to think of Abhisehk Varman -- I feel like I was the only person who found 2 States super boring whereas the book was a delight. Shashank Khaitan's HSKD was awful. Shakun is ok. Punit Malhotra is out.

No wonder KJo is collaborating so much with others, or trying to get other reputed directors on board with Dharma.

How come u and I wrote exactly the same thing in two different posts at the same time. What a coincidence! Coincidences actually do happen...surprised and smiling reading this.

This is what you get for announcing the release date without even having a cast and a proper script in place.😆

Reincarnation period films are quite a risk. I honestly want to know what's so special about this script that KJo's been stuck on it for the past 2 years or so

Yeah chocolover I was just thinking when was the last really good Dharma movie? HSKD, 2 states, and HTP were okayy-ish. I feel the quality of the movies have been slowly going downhill in the past few years. Perhaps when his obsession with the SOTY kids started?😆

I don't get what Ayan Mukherji is doing either. One of the better directors and he's not even being utilized properly...ohhh ADHM, that movie should be dropped too😆

About the quality, well Karan ruins brilliant directors but Karan Malhotra was never brilliant to begin with so there is no question of ruining 😆 It can only get better from here 😆

Haha...realistically, it's not possible to make sure films are hit in today's times, especially with the kind of budget a film like Shuddhi would need. Also, jinxed movies hardly do well.

See the thing is, if in Brothers the acting/music/story got panned and NOT the direction, it would have been ok...cuz new film, new cast, new team. But there's trouble when the direction gets panned. It seems like KM likes this 70's type melodrama and action which won't work today. Of course Brothers could just have been a one-off thing. I mean even Sujoy made terrible movies before Kahaani happened. So it depends on KJo and how much trust he has in KM, but he'll definitely have to be more careful and take a more active interest in the film. Does he have time? He has his own film to make atm. I thought he assigned all those films to his kids so they would be busy while he has to work. 😆

Yeah KJo was indifferent to Brothers ...maybe he already knew it sucked so didn't want to waste time and money on it. 😆

Oh I know KM isn't a good director -- I mean ruining people like Gauri. 😆

Actually KM is not bad..I liked Agneepath..Melodramatic yes but entertaining and the film had great music..After ages, i liked HR in a film 😆 So Brothers probably is a one off cos i was expecting it to do really well too..About Shudhi well, the plot sounds complex and the budget is huge so KM totally needs to up the ante if he even wants the film to break even..Probably tone down on the melodrama cos thats one thing he is being criticized for the most..

Ah poor Gauri..Going from Sri Devi to Katrina/ Alia must be really tough 😆 I wish she collaborated again with Sri Devi but of course with Karan around, every good director eventually ends up collaborating with Alia 😆

Oh haha I just read your post in that Kalank thread. We totally did write the same thing. 😆 it is very much possible that Karan shelves Shiddhi and puts Varun and Alia in Abhishek's Kalank instead.

And for ADHM, I totally expected Anushka to get replaced the closer we move to the film being made. But maybe KJo has a point to prove. The thing is, KJo is a brand in himself...he made SOTY with newcomers make money. So probably, he can make ADHM with bigger names work. He just needs good music and a film on the lines of KKHH/K3G.
