He's mostly known as a great dancer so for the longest time that was his main thing. Intentionally or unintentionally. But I think post Haider he's being looked at as a great actor. He's sort of made it into the big league with this one. Time will tell if he can maintain this momentum long enough to put himself in the big league permanently.

Yes... indeed. But I think he also tried to add his "touch" to whichever project he did in the past.

BO office failure is discouraging and he has faced many in his career..
but he still tries to come up with something fresh with his every new project.

Just because people consider him for the same roles and he works with the same heroines doesn't mean he is pitted with them. 2010-2012 were the three exceedingly bad years he had and it didn't pull him down like it would've done to others.

When he started, he was the only hero in his 20s which worked to his advantage and was already established by the time others his age began their career. He was basking in newfound success of Vivah and JWM when Ranbir and Imran debuted. Then came Kaminey, Mausam didn't do well but kept his performance kept him relevant, and then of course we have RR and Haider as commercial and critical+commercial successes respectively.

There is logic to why he is as established as he is, it is not something beyond understanding, but I don't think his case will be repeated.

@bold
I agree...😆😆
His case will always remain as one of its kind.

For me his never give up attitude. He never stops. 👏
After delivering so many disasters he is still reinventing himself and giving us more movies and in the process gives us films like Kaminey, Haider from time to time, ⭐️

Shahid has contemporaries

Hrithik , AB JR, John all debuted around the same time

Other than Hrithik , Shahid is doing better than all of them 😳 . October 22 we will see of he can zoom past him

Actually, that's what made me like him to begin with. I always found his journey to be really interesting.

During Kaminey, I read something really interesting ... Regarding what he went thru during Vivaah shooting ... I think, he really woke up after TMK's failure.

He is effing talented, man. He is so natural on screen. I don't even find him overrated, even after Haider he's not considered a huuuge star. He can pull of so many different genres and roles, be it comedy, action, masala, romance, bad boy-stuff, and now with Udta Punjab thrillers too, I hope. Directors know he doesn't have the biggest box office pull but they still want him for his talent. He's a fighter, he's goodlooking, charming.

Another thing I really like about him, he is so into cinema. He's very passionated about it and about acting. He's not just the star, he wants to be the actor. And he has good chemistry with pretty much every heroine out there. He makes it work.

He has talent and ultimately talent sustains. Shahid's made some bad decisions but he seems to be aware of it and seems keen to rectify his mistakes so that's a positive. How he rises from here remains to be seen, but he's on the right track
