What i interpreted is the girl was kinda infatuated with the elder man and had been exploited not knowing what it meant.
She realized it later and hence the stare.

The concepts/stories used to be pretty messed up during 90's in films & videos where they used to show that physical violence & molestation is sexy/coy & the only way to make a girl fall in love is being physically aggressive with her. Thank god we are over it now (almost!)

IMO, in the video the girl seems to be smitten by her teacher & the teacher reciprocates to her advances. The girl maybe after getting physical regrets the whole thing. The main issue is that they're trying to pass this as something normal which is pretty horrible. This is actually kind of disturbing to think about now.

That's how I looked at it. It does have the undertone of child abuse especially the way he was looking at her in the rain. Damn, one of my favorite songs of mine has been ruined.

Oh Yes. It's one of my favorite songs too. Big fan of 90's singles but because of the video, it's eternally ruined for me I think

^^^ From the way it's been directed with glimpses of school girl and teacher, don't know if they are trying to pass it off as something normal ? I mean I was a kid when the song was released. Probably the adults from the time may have different perception than us...

i too could feel a subtle hint about child abuse..esp wen the lady throws down the telescope...it almost seemed as a child she was unaware of wat was happening to her and wen she grew up she realized it.

I really don't know, the video gives way to several assumptions & possibilities now. Was it her uniform that was drying outside? If yes, then it definitely indicates physical intimacy between the two & in that case, yes it is statutory rape.

Nah, I don't think so. You know these kind of concepts like eve-teasing in films by heroes was pretty common in 90's. Like my mom didn't use to think there is anything wrong with the supposed rape scene in Dil or the kidnapping scene of bhumika in tere naam to make her fall in love with Sallu, until I pointed it out to her 😆. Maybe if there was Internet, we would have known the reactions.

Wow, interesting point. I like this song and heard it so many times on radio. But I dont think I ever watched the video.
