Do the Khans celebrate mediocrity?

Whereas the younger lot - Ranbir, Deepika, Varun, Ranveer, Anushka, Kangana etc are doing their best to break stereotypes, experiment and do different kinds of cinema, the Khans are stuck in reverse gear. All they want to do is masala movies with over-exaggerated scenes, pop patriotism, hackneyed dialogues and slapstick comedy. Joining them is Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan.

Its time these 90's stars gave way to the newer generation and stop marketing gimmicks like 100 crore club. After all, quality cannot be measured only by box -office numbers!

Anushka and Varun are so sincere and look at the way they discuss cinema. I can't imagine SRK and Salman in their place!

these young lot will love mediocrity too if it turns into box office sucess...😆😆😆 ..khans has huge fanbase and these young lot has to make fanbase

They get better box office results with all this that's why they do it..

They have star power to back themselves up.

If other people do that they will fail.

EXAMPLE: Ranbir Flopoor with 'Besharam'.

In today's time actors expermient a lot bcoz that is now being accepted by audience, i don't think pehle audience would have welcomed it but even Khans have done experiments its not that wo Khans aise hi ban gaye n don't compare Anushka aur Varun with Srk n Salman bcoz they have not reached that stage where can be compared with them .😊

I remember saying this a few months back..Even the Khans were extremely passionate about films back in the 90s..Most of those names you mentioned can never pull off Darr or Rangeela or MPK the way SRK or Aamir or Salman did..So lets wait for a decade & see if they are still as passionate even if they become as big as the Khans..Its easy to be passionate & experiment when you start off..I know ppl can say Khans are so successful so they can afford to experiment but the truth is after a point, you only wanna maintain your top spot 😆 Lets see if these young stars experiment even after becoming huge stars..Btw, a lot of them would love to exchange places with the Khans 😆

P.S. Am no Aamir fan but its ridiculous to even say any of these young actors have a better filmography than him..3 Idiots is not mediocre..Nor is Taare Zameen Par or Lagaan or Rang De Basanti..So what mediocrity are we talking about here? 😕

ranbir is a better actor than salman anyday. Awards speask for themselves.

That is not the point.

If you use only box office numbers as yardstick, then even X can use awards and critical acclaim as yardstick.

That way 2 of the 3 Khans will fail pretty badly.

I am not comparing them, I am comparing their sensibility and approach to cinema.

To be fair, Anushka and Varun have only NH10 (plus an effort in Bombay Velvet) and Badlapur in the name of content based cinema

If Ranbir actually manages to experiment & keeps choosing diverse roles even after a decade, i'l be such a proud fan..Provided i continue liking him for a decade 😆

It's great that the younger stars experiment but the easiest thing to do is experiment then. You have nothing to lose and you're still trying to establish your fanbase, figure out what works for you. The hardest thing is to break out of the clutter when you're a big star because all you want is to maintain your position. It's very sad though. It's also a fear that my fans won't accept me like this...so let me give them what they do accept.

That being said, times have changed. Even Khan fans expect and demand more of them. If they don't realize or understand that, the end would only be that much closer. Past glories are past. No point talking about them 24/7.
