A couple of days back, Kareena Kapoor said 'No' to Rajkumar Gupta's film Section 84, leaving the filmmaker high and dry.
This is certainly not the first time she has done this.
Why does Kareena often ditch the producer after saying 'Yes'? Unfortunately for her, many of those films have gone on to become big hits.
Of course, the actress claims that she doesn't regret turning down any of these films, but is she saying the truth? Isn't it most likely that she is simply putting up a brave front?
We are not denying that her films with Khans during the same period have set the cash registers ringing loudly. But doesn't she feel that she missed out on films which had far more scope for her as an actress? Take a look at the stuff she rejected, and you would agree with what we're thinking:
Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai
Ameesha Patel struck gold as a debutante with the blockbuster Kaho Naa... while Kareena's debut film Refugee (which released the same year) tanked at the box-office.
Kal Ho Naa Ho
Remember how Preity Zinta thanked Kareena on national television for rejecting this film? What were Bebo's reasons? First, she asked for a hefty remuneration and secondly, she didn't trust debutant director Nikhil Advani's skills.
Page 3
Madhur Bhandarkar, who always wanted to work with Kareena, had offered her Page 3. Konkona Sen Sharma ended up winning the National Award for this performance - an award that is still missing from Bebo's trophy rack.
Fashion
Kareena couldn't have possibly liked this development. This was easily the turning point in her arch nemesis Priyanka Chopra's career. What might sting more is that she won a National Award.

The actress had given her nod to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Then, she woke up one morning and changed her mind. Why? She said the role doesn't interest her. Umm, why did you agree in the first place then, girl?

Are we seeing a pattern here? It's almost as if a Kareena-rejected film does wonders for the heroine who fills in. Surely, you know that Kangana Ranaut won a National Award for this role.
Dil Dhadakne Do
Kareena said she couldn't give bulk dates of three months for this cruise film. She added that after marriage, her priorities have changed and she doesn't want to stay away from home for so long. Okay, then.
Durga Rani Singh
Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh had approached Kareena for this woman-centric film but the actress downright rejected it. Why? Only Kareena can tell us that.
Shuddhi
Bebo walked out of the project as soon as Hrithik opted out. Her loss is Alia Bhatt's gain.
